Why does Alpine Air Living technology work so well?

Nature works, period! There is nothing better that cleanses the outdoor environment than Mother Nature itself. We had simply recreated what nature does outdoors, and that's the reason our unique technology works so well! Our air purifiers cleanse the indoors exactly the same way that nature cleanses the outdoors. That's why it works. It's that simple!

While the benefits of negative ionization and ozonation have been studied for many decades, only within the last 20 years has this subject received the necessary media exposure as the problem of indoor air pollution and its negative side effects has reached epidemic proportions in USA, and some other countries.

It was during this time that the indoor air pollution subject and the technology geared to solve this problem finally received the attention they needed from numerous respected scientists, researchers, and other leading experts who began studying the problem and viable solution. While it would be next to impossible to list here many thousands of articles, news stories, books, and worldwide Universities' research studies with positive conclusions confirming beneficial effects of technology behind our products, here is just a small sample of how most of these experts describe the basics that our technology is built on, while listing many benefits it provides. Click here to read it.

What makes your technology unique?

Our unique air purification technology is comprised of several powerful components, which nature uses to purify the air outdoors. The core of this technology is negative ionization, which is quite effective in reducing dust, smoke, pollen and various other airborne allergens and contaminants. As these are removed from the air, our machines safely sanitize and oxygenate the air, thus effectively killing bacteria, viruses, mold and other harmful microorganisms found on surfaces and airborne, and this technology also breaks down various toxic chemicals into non-harmful compounds. Unlike ineffective air filters and other so-called air purifiers, our machines do not rely on the air passing through the unit, and instead our technology is designed to actually go out to the source of the problem. Thus, a single machine is powerful enough to treat an entire home, which results not only in huge savings of money for the user, but also in effective air pollution control and maintenance. Please visit http://www.alpineairtechnologies.com/presentation/ to learn more about our technology.

Why do you offer Alpine Air Living purifiers at such a good price?

We sell direct to consumer and avoid the middle man, which helps to keep our cost low and pass on the savings to you. This is also the reason why you won't find Alpine Air Living products in any retail store.

Are these the real Alpine air purifiers?

YES! We are the manufacturer of the newest Living Lightning® Alpine Air purifiers as seen on this official company web site. If you are the user of our older technology, then you already know you can trust these reputable machines and you can also expect even better performance from these newest machines!

Are all of your Alpine Air Living products brand new?

Yes, all of our Alpine Air Living products are brand new, sealed in manufacturer's box.

Do all of your Alpine Air Living products have a warranty?

All Alpine Air Living Units Come With Three (3) year parts and labor Warranty. Should you ever have any issues with any item during its warranty period of 3 years, we will fix it for you at no cost. Store credit is also available.

Are Alpine Air Living purifiers silent in operation?

Yes, all Alpine Air Living purifiers are very quiet at normal settings. The only exception is, if you need to really sanitize a particular area of your home or office (for example, to reduce mold or mildew, or very heavy particulate contamination in the air). In this case, you will need to turn the fan and purifier control on very high setting, and you will hear the unit operate. However, after sanitizing you will return the unit to its normal settings, at which the unit operates very quietly.

How do Alpine Air Living purifiers compare to air filters?

The problem with air filters is twofold. Air filters are designed to treat symptoms of air pollution and NOT the problem itself. Air filters are only designed to treat the air that passes through them, and they do not go out to the source of the problem. That's why you must have an air filter in every room, which is quite costly and frankly ineffective. The problem is, very limited amount of air actually passes through the air filter. The air that enters is in the immediate area of the filter, but if you take just a few steps away, the air in that surrounding area will never even reach the filter.

The second problem with air filters lies in the fact that they get dirty and polluted very quickly. This means that if you're not actually cleaning or replacing the filter very often, the air filter itself becomes a source of indoor air pollution! It takes dirty air in, and releases the air that's even dirtier! And it can be quite costly to constantly replace air filters.

Filterless Alpine Air Living purifier on the other hand, goes out to the source of the problem. That's why you only need one purifier to effectively treat an area of up to 5,000 sq.ft. The incredible Alpine Air Living technology attacks the problem at its source. It sends out positive and negative ions that travel through walls, floor, and sealing, and bond with pollutants in the air making them heavy which causes the pollutants to fall to the ground. After which a low level of ozone (activated oxygen) is released to oxidize the fallen residue. Unlike air filters, there's nothing to replace and very little maintenance is required on all Alpine Air Living products. Actually, using Alpine Air Living technology is the quickest and the easiest most "hands-free" approach to eliminate the indoor air pollution in your home or office. Please click here to see a complete comparison of air filters.

How do Alpine Air Living purifiers compare to other air purifiers?

Alpine Air Living purifiers are built on a scientifically proven formula, recreating the same cleansing process indoors that nature uses outdoors, thus very effectively reducing and eliminating indoor air pollution, such as dust; pet dander; smoke; tobacco smoke; odors; common bacteria; viruses; mold; mildew; and fungi, among other indoor pollutants. And just 1 Alpine Air Living purifier is needed to do all this in an area up to 5,000 sq.ft! Many companies can make claims, however EnviroQuest International stands 100% behind our technology, firmly supported by the amazing results our numerous customers have experienced. We strongly believe currently there is no other technology that's really comparable to Alpine Air Living technology. Many tried to copy our proprietary technology, however they never succeeded. You can find other purifiers that produce ionization and ozone, however their technology is not quite the same. We constantly put competitors' machines to the test, and up to date haven't found yet any other similar in nature purifiers that work as well as Alpine Air Living purifiers do. Plus no other company we know of has as many satisfied customers with so many testimonial letters on file. Please click here to see a complete comparison of other brands of air purifiers.

I saw your (or similar) air purifier on another web site. Is it a knock off imitation unit?

Yes, if the machine is sold on ANY other web site, it is a knock-off / imitation unit, no matter what it says. Genuine Alpine Living Lightning™ Air Purifiers are sold ONLY on this manufacturer web site www.AlpineAirTechnologies.com.

Can you help me compare your air purifiers with imitation units sold on all other web sites?

Please note we are NOT affiliated with any other web site claiming to sell Alpine air purifiers. What they're selling are cheap knock off copies of our machines, fooling the consumer into thinking their product is the same or that they are distributing on our behalf. Real Alpine machine will have the Alpine Living Lightning® logo on it. We are the sole manufacturer of genuine Living Lightning® Alpine Air technology and real Alpine air purifiers are only sold on this web site: AlpineAirTechnologies.com. To protect our customers, we do not authorize any online resale of our machines from any other web site. Knock off units are mass produced for cheap distribution and lack the quality you would expect, and that's why they don't last and is a total waste of your money. While you may save a few dollars upfront buying a knockoff, you will lose much more in the long run having to purchase new machines over and over again. These imitation units are made out of metal and not stainless steel, so the inside components will corrode very quickly; their cabinet is made from cheap plywood that will disintegrate over time, causing cracks in the cabinet where moisture and other contaminants will enter and corrode the inside of the unit; their negative ionization and ozone production is quite limited so you won't get much performance out of the unit, and cheap Hepa filter on the back offers no protection to the unit. Technologically, all imitation units are inferior to authentic Alpine air machines. In addition, the sellers of these imitation units trick consumers with a 5-year warranty, or even a fake lifetime warranty and some other gimmicks just to get them to buy the unit. Once they have your money, you'll never hear from them again should you ever need service. To learn more about this and see actual web sites to avoid, please visit our Consumer Warning page http://www.alpineairtechnologies.com/important.shtml.

I have an older Alpine air purifier model. Why don't I see it on your web site?

If you do not see a particular older air purifier model on our web site, it is because it's out of production as of long time ago and information is no longer available on it. To compare our newest technology to older technology and find a comparable unit, please see related questions in this section.

I have an older machine and I want to buy a new one. What is the comparable model to my older unit?

ANY of our newer models will perform much better than the older technology, no matter what unit you have! So it really does not matter which older model you have. Simply choose the new air purifier based on sq.ft. coverage of your house and the sanitizing power you need there (for problematic residential environments, it's recommended to get the next model up than what you would normally get. I.e. instead of LA-2000, you would get LA-2400, etc.) The biggest difference between our newest models is square foot coverage. Click here to learn more about our new models, and if you still can't decide which new machine would be right for you, please take the free test to have our system recommend a suitable model for you!

Can you help me compare your newest Living Lightning® technology to older Living Air technology (Models 880, 150, 250, XL-15, Flair, Breeze, etc.)?

From the cabinet and down to all of the internal components, all of our newest machines are technologically advanced in comparison to older technology. All new units feature a double prong negative ionizer, which provides for more powerful ionization; 2 high frequency Ozone plates for better sanitizing power; high intensity UV bulbs for improved germicidal control; more powerful and long lasting fan motor for better O3 distribution; all stainless steel parts to protect against rust and corrosion, and better protection for the unit's internal components via improved carbon filtration and solid wood cabinet. Our newest Fresh Air purifier in comparison to its previous versions has also been improved tremendously to offer quicker and much more effective air pollution reduction and control, just as the rest of our models. So you can expect a great performance from any of our new and improved machines. If you have further questions about our newest technology, review more information here in FAQ and you can also see the specs of each machine individually to compare the units.

What model is comparable to my old XL15 air purifier?

The old XL-15 air purifier is a predecessor to the newest Classic LA-3500 v2.0 air purifier.

What's the difference between the older XL-15 Classic and new Classic LA-3500 v2.0 air purifier?

Classic XL-15 is an older model. This is a predecessor to the newest Classic LA-3500 v2.0, which is more powerful and provides for quicker and more effective air pollution reduction and control. The newest Classic model features stainless steel parts to protect against corrosion; double-prong negative ion generator for more powerful ionization; 2 High frequency Ozone plates for more sanitizing power; germicidal UV bulb for enhanced germ/viral/bacterial/mold spore, etc. protection; improved filtration system for the back to help protect the unit itself, and much better quality cabinet than the older XL, among other improvements. So the newest Classic is a much better model overall.

In fact, any of our newer models will perform better than the older XL-15 technology! The biggest difference between our newest models is square foot coverage, so if your budget does not allow you to get the new Classic and your house is smaller than 3,500 sq.ft, you can choose any other model according to actual sq.ft. of your house. Click here to learn more about our new models.

What's the difference between the Classic air purifier and the Fresh Air purifier?

Fresh Air LA-3500 v2.0 alpine air purifier is an electronic version of our air purifiers. Featuring a 5-stage Sanitizing module, (2) germicidal UV bulbs working in conjunction with a photo catalytic titanium filter, plus a Timer which gives the user ability to control the unit, the new Fresh Air purifier provides quicker and more effective air purification. It has two filters for the protection of the machine itself and stainless steel parts, which make the unit long lasting. Overall the Fresh Air is quite effective in killing Mold, Bacteria, Viruses, and removes all kinds of odors, chemical fumes and tobacco smoke. An independent 2-prong Ion generator provides for quick reduction of airborne particles. For added convenience, the Fresh Air purifier itself has an LCD Screen which shows exact settings and also could be operated at a distance via the included remote control.

Classic LA-3500 v2.0 alpine air purifier is a "manual version" of the Fresh-Air, just like the rest of the machines. As a direct descendant of the XL15 living air classic air purifier, it provides effective purifying and ionization control, however does not have as many functions as the electronic Fresh Air purifier. The Classic air purifier has been proven to work quite well over the years and continues to be the "flagship" model due to its worldwide popularity. To learn more about the Classic and how it has evolved, please see Q&A #16 in this section.

I have an older model Breeze AT living air purifier and want to have something as close to the Breeze AT machine as possible. What do you recommend?

The old Breeze AT air purifier was an electronic predecessor to the Fresh Air purifier, and was the first electronic living air purifier made. If you want to have all the "bells and whistles" of the old Breeze, then consider the newest luxury model Fresh Air LA-3500 v2.0 air purifier, which we guarantee you will absolutely love! It is much more technologically advanced and improved in comparison to the old Breeze AT model and features all of the electronics you could possible want in an air purifier. However, if your budget calls for a smaller machine, then ANY of our newer models will work just fine for you, and will provide your house with quicker and more effective air pollution reduction and maintenance compared to the old Breeze AT model. For help choosing the right air purifier, take our simple indoor air pollution test and quickly find the air purifier suitable for you.

What is the difference between old models Fresh Air by vollara and Fresh Air by ecoquest and NEW Model# HMA-300/CHO Fresh Air LA-3500 v2.0 air purifiers?

Fresh Air by vollara (same as old Fresh Air by ecoquest) consists of outdated OLD technology, which was not improved since the mid 2000's:

OLD Fresh Air by ecoquest international / Fresh Air by vollara

  • Single needlepoint metal ionizer (limited in production of negative ions; is not made out of stainless steel, so will corrode easily overtime and will not be effective is production of negative ions)
  • Single UV bulb, positioned inside the RCI cell (covered and if burns out, the entire RCI cell has to be replaced, which is expensive)
  • Cheap plastic cabinet (does not provide secure housing for components)
  • Non-stainless steel parts (will rust and corrode overtime)
  • Low quality LCD readout panel (50% chance will burn out within 1-2 years of use)
  • Difficult to perform maintenance (due to position of components within the unit, it's hard to reach the inner area)
  • Back filter assembly does not provide sufficient protection for inner components against dust and other debris accumulating there
  • Expected lifespan 1-3 years
  • Amended warranty policy

NEW Model# HMA-300/CHO Fresh Air LA-3500 v2.0 by EnviroQuest International

  • Double prong stainless steel negative ionizer (releases trillions of negative ions and does not corrode over time)
  • 2 separate and independent high intensity quality germicidal UV bulbs with a separate titanium photo-catalytic filter (powerful germicidal protection; easy and quite affordable to replace should the UV bulbs ever burn out. Thus the RCI component is separated and is enhanced featuring 2 UV bulbs vs. just 1, a lifetime titanium photo-catalytic filter, etc. and much lesser cost to replace components)
  • Germicidal UV bulb w/photo-catalysis function is independent and is easily controlled by the user with a single button. The advantage is that if this one function goes out, it will not cause chain reaction for other functions to fail within the machine.
  • Negative ionization (including radio-wave antenna and needlepoint double prongs) is independent and is easily controlled by the user with a single button. The advantage is that if this one function goes out, it will not cause chain reaction for other functions to fail within the machine.
  • Quality solid wood construction laminated cabinet (offers good protection for inner assembly against wear and tear due external factors)
  • Stainless steel parts (will not rust or corrode over time and will last)
  • High quality LCD readout panel (will not burn out over time due to continuous use)
  • Reinforced fan motor brackets for better support of fan motor assembly to protect against the assembly being damaged in transit, and weakening and caving in over time inside the unit.
  • Better quality fan motor
  • Better quality longer lasting high voltage transformer for generation of activated oxygen
  • Maintenance could be performed quite easily (quick and easy access to the inner components of the machine for cleaning; no major obstructions along the way)
  • 2 Quality filters to protect the inner components of the unit (solid carbon filter and additional pre-filter trapping any micro particles trying to enter the unit; both washable)
  • Expected lifespan 5-10+ years (depending on the environment where the unit is placed and if easy proper maintenance is performed once a month)
  • 3 year parts and labor warranty covering any mechanical defect, provided by a reputable company standing behinds its products for many years.

In addition, we cover sales tax and also pay for shipping within USA and Canada, and user has full 30 days to evaluate and test out our new machine. If it does not perform as specified, we will take it back.

Can you help me compare your new machines currently listed for sale on this web site?

With the exception of newest Fresh Air LA-3500 v2.0 air purifier, the rest of our machines are almost identical with the biggest difference between them being the actual square footage they cover. Air purifier models Alpine Pass LA-1000 v2.0 and Alpine Living LA-1500 v2.0 are filter-less and feature a stainless steel back with the "back to front airflow", whereas all of the air purifier models starting with Professional LA-2000 v2.0 and up to the Classic Air LA-3500 v2.0 feature a specialty back carbon filter and also have germicidal UV bulbs. The Fresh Air LA-3500 v2.0 air purifier is the newest most advanced electronic version of our air purifiers. It incorporates the same exact features as the Classic air purifier and the rest of our models. However, due to the electronic nature of this machine, it incorporates additional functions not available in our other models. The new Fresh Air LA-3500 v2.0 features a 5-stage sanitizing function and two powerful germicidal UV bulbs working in combination with photo-catalytic screen, activated oxygen and negative ionization for improved germicidal control. The Fresh Air purifier also features a timer for controlled sanitizing and remote control for ease of use. So in summary, the Fresh Air purifier has all of the components of the Classic machine and the rest of the models, yet in addition features its own unique blend of technologies and helpful features only available in electronic version. If you have further questions about any of the models, you can review the specs of each machine individually on our web site and compare the units.

How effective is the Single Room LA-500 v2.0 air purifier in comparison to whole house models in removing pet odors, cigarette odors, mold odors, or other household odors?

The Single Room LA-500 v2.0 (bedroom) air purifier will ionize and sanitize the air, however due to its limited power, it serves best as a complementary unit to any of our whole house air purifiers. Meaning, it will be much more effective when used in combination with any whole house air purifier as opposed to being used by itself, and since you can add this air purifier for only $98.50 when ordering any whole house unit, it's a great deal at this price! However, if you want to order only one air purifier and especially if there is a noticeable problem you want to address in a single room, then we would recommend the next model up Alpine Pass LA-1000 v2.0, which incorporates all of the necessary technologies and is powerful enough to address any problem. You could easily adjust the settings of this compact air purifier to the size of your room and its environment, so even if your room is smaller than 500 sq.ft. the Alpine Pass LA-1000 v2.0 is recommended if you want to order just one air purifier. You can check the specs of and compare these two models on our web site.

Does the Single Room LA-500 air purifier produce ozone with ozone plates like the other models or does it only rely on the UV bulb for sanitizing?

The Single Room LA-500 v2.0 unit produces Ozone without the ceramic plates via the UV bulb and also features negative ionization. However, this machine is not nearly as powerful as the next model up, the whole house Alpine Pass LA-1000 v2.0 air purifier, which is what we recommend should you have a noticeable air pollution problem in your home or office. Single Room LA-500 v2.0 air purifier serves well as a complementary unit to any larger whole house machine and that's a very effective combination, as opposed to just using the Single Room LA-500 v2.0 air purifier by itself.

How many square feet will a specific unit cover?

Individual unit specifications reflect effective square footage coverage based on a relatively unpolluted environment. The amount of pollution, air flow conditions, and the specific layout of the environment will determine the number and size of units needed. As stated before, it is usually best to start with bigger equipment than necessary and adjust accordingly to the needs of your environment. For example, if your house is 2,000 sq.ft., you could get a unit that easily covers up to 3,000 sq.ft.

What size unit should I use?

The unit size can usually be determined by the total sq. ft. area & nature of the environment, pollutants being addressed, as well as airflow conditions within the environment. After you complete the free test for indoor air pollution in your home, a purifier will be recommended to you, based on your environment. As a rule of thumb, it is usually best to start with more equipment than necessary and adjust accordingly to the needs of your environment, versus adding equipment at the later time. This way it's more cost-effective.

My house square footage falls between the sq.ft. coverage indicated on the 2 of your air purifier models and both air purifiers match closely the sq.ft. of my house. Which of these 2 air purifiers should I get?

You should only get the air purifier that matches exactly your sq.ft. at home OR is over and above the total sq.ft. area of your house. For example, if your house is 2,200 sq.ft, you want to get Silent Thunder LA-2400, which would meet your minimum requirement, since it's guaranteed to cover up to 2,400 sq.ft. Of course you can choose any other air purifier with coverage over and above your minimum requirement, as each purifier's total area coverage can easily be adjusted down. Also, keep in mind that getting a purifier with coverage over and above your minimum requirement may save you even more money in the long run. Following the above example, if your current house is 2,200 sq.ft, but you plan to move into a 2,500 sq.ft. house in the future, it's recommended that you get NA Flare LA-2700 from the start, since this way you won't have to purchase an additional air purifier down the road to make up the difference in sq.ft. coverage between your current 2,200 sq.ft. and future 2,500 sq.ft. Also, if your 2,200 square foot house is very polluted or toxic, then you will benefit even more from a more powerful machine, such as the next model up the NA Flare LA-2700 model. An even better solution in this case could be getting 2 smaller units, such as (2) Alpine Living LA-1500 air purifiers, one for each floor of your house, if your house is multi-leveled. You can never go wrong with having 2 units or a more powerful single unit, since you can always adjust the settings down according to your environment and you'll always have the extra sanitizing power should you ever need it. If you're still not sure which air purifier model to get, and you would like to get a professional recommendation, please visit the support section of our web site to contact our sales department, and include details about your house.

My house is over 3,500 sq.ft, which unit should I buy?

Considering that your house is over 3,500 sq.ft, we recommend getting (2) air purifiers for your home so that you can have complete coverage there. With 50% OFF on second unit, you cannot go wrong. For example, if your house is 5,000 sq.ft, this would be the model we recommend for you http://www.alpineairtechnologies.com/products/flare.shtml It's quite affordable and having 2 of these machines will be sufficient for your home! (each unit covers 2,700 sq.ft. X 2 = 5,400 sq.ft. total coverage) So choose the 2 machines that combined will provide total square foot coverage for your house.

Which air purifier should I use for the basement?

Most problems in the basement usually result from lack of air circulation and high humidity, which causes mold to form and other problems. To effectively treat any basement, we strongly recommend a combination of good DEHUMIDIFIER and one of our air purifiers! Dehumidifier will remove humidity and excess moisture from the basement, which is an absolute must, while our air purifier will kill off existing mold, mildew, etc. and will sanitize the air. BOTH will maintain the air clean and pollution-free. If there is a severe problem in the basement to treat, in addition to the residential air purifier model, we would recommend the commercial model IPC-4000 to sanitize the basement effectively! You would first use the commercial strength IPC-4000 air sanitizer to quickly get rid of any problem in the basement, and then you would use a combination of dehumidifier and a residential model alpine air air purifier round the clock to maintain the air quality. In summary, to effectively treat and then maintain good air quality in ANY basement you will need BOTH a good dehumidifier and an appropriate strength residential model alpine air air purifier working 24/7 in your basement. In instance of severe indoor air pollution problem in the basement, in addition you will need the IPC-4000 commercial strength air sanitizer.

If you need more than 1 air purifier, we recommend taking advantage of our 50% OFF 2nd unit promotion (you could see it on the Order page of the new air purifier you choose), which will end up being LESS $ than doing a second separate trade-in order! This way you will SAVE BIG on both new air purifiers: You will get $100 OFF additional instantly on the first air purifier (trade) and you will get 50% OFF the 2nd unit same model, which comes out to a lot LESS $ than doing two separate trade-in orders!

Do you accept any brand air purifier or air filter towards the trade-in program?

YES! We will accept any make, model or brand air purifier or filter into our trade-in program, no matter where you bought it or how you got it.

Are these sold in retail stores?

These machines are currently NOT sold in stores, which translates into much lower prices for you! There is NO middleman (retail store) and hence no retail mark-up, so you can enjoy much lower factory direct prices. And now with the BIG SALE and various promotions currently on our web site, you can get one of our newest air purifiers for a ridiculously low price, never available in the past. Remember, WE pay for shipping of your air purifier anywhere you live within USA and Canada, so it's even better than going to a retail store, since not only do you save money, but you don't even have to leave your house to get and try any of our new air purifiers.

Is there a local rep in my area?

Our dealers are independent business owners, hence they are responsible for their own advertising and we do not promote their business. In general, if you do not see a dealer advertising in your area via the most common means (yellow pages, local shopper magazines, etc), it means the dealer is either not present in your area or is not currently active. In this case, we recommend you do business directly with our company, since no matter where you are located we will provide you with excellent service. Plus, shipping of new machines to you anywhere within USA and Canada is FREE!

Do you offer financing?

Yes, we do! We're offering our customers a 2-payment installment plan. Choose any air purifier and pay just HALF now, which will set a machine aside in your name at our currently low price for the unit locked in. Then make up the balance anytime within 30 days, at which time the unit will be shipped to you. If you prefer to make small payments over time, then simply use your credit to pay for the machine in full, and then repay your CC on your terms with as little (minimum payment) or as much as you like monthly until balance is repaid. Either way you would be financing the unit. If you want to do the 2-payment installment plan, please contact our Sales dept. and we will assist you.

What payment methods do you accept and do you offer financing?

We accept all major credit cards; debit cards; check-by-phone; check-by-fax, and Paypal.

For financing, we do offer our customers a 2-payment installment plan. Choose any air purifier and pay just HALF now, which will set a machine aside in your name at our currently low (sale) price for the unit locked in. Then make up the balance anytime within 30 days, at which time the unit will be shipped to you. If you prefer to make small payments over time, then simply use your credit card to pay for the machine in full, and then repay your CC on your terms with as little (minimum payment) or as much as you like monthly until the balance is repaid. Either way you would be financing the unit.

What colors do the machines come in?

Please note that all of the models we currently have are in the same dark Cherry wood color, with the exception of Fresh Air LA-3500 v2.0 air purifier, which is Walnut / Graphite. The reason most machines are in this Cherry wood color is due to the fact that this color seems to be the most popular among our customers in general, no matter what the home decor is like. The cabinet is actually laminated OAK stained in dark Cherry.

Do local dealers carry parts for air purifiers or the parts have to be purchased directly from the company?

Please note our local distributors do not carry replacement parts for air purifiers. The only parts available for old air purifiers are listed on our parts page and you can order these at your convenience. Parts for new air purifiers are also listed on that same page. If a particular part is not listed for a new air purifier, it means this part has to be replaced by a qualified factory trained technician, in which case the machine would have to be sent in for repair under warranty (if in effect) or outside of warranty (if expired).

If I need extra ozone plates or any other accessories can I get them directly from you?

Yes, should you ever need to get an extra Alpine Air Living purifier, the ozone plates, or any other purifier accessories, please contact us. We are your "one stop" place for all needs related to indoor air pollution. You can now order parts and accessories on our parts page and more air purifiers on buy now page.

Is the white HEPA filter that went on the back of XL15 air purifier still available?

NO. This non-washable / non-reusable filter was designed to work just for a few months from the time the new air purifier was first placed in the house, in order to protect better the machine itself from all the air pollutants coming down from the air during the first few months of unit's operation. Afterwards, this disposable filter had to be replaced with a permanent (washable) metal mesh lint screen filter, which is still available on our parts page, and you can order it there for only $39.95.

Do you still carry the personal air purifier that I could wear around my neck?

Yes, we still carry this product! Please visit here to see it, and you can order it at your convenience right on our web site.

You offer a lifetime guaranteed Electrostatic air filter as a free gift with the purchase of an air purifier, and I need more than one of these air filters. Can you custom-make more than one for me?

Yes! Do you manufacture air purifiers for Europe and Asian markets?

We have many customers from all over the world who are using our air purifiers quite successfully! Japan; Hong Kong; South Korea; Philippines; Great Britain (UK); Germany; Russia and most of South America are just some of the many countries where our customers benefit daily from our powerful technology. Since all of our machines are manufactured in 120 V / 60 Hz, all that is needed to work in ANY country is a simple and affordable voltage transformer that can be purchased locally in any electronics store or online. So using our machines all over the world is quite easy, and there is never an issue of the air purifier not working.

We are a tax-exempt organization. What forms do we need to fill out in order to purchase from you tax-free?

You do not have to worry about paying any sales tax on your purchase with us, since WE pay for it for all customers tax exempt or not. Meaning, your total price includes just the cost of the air purifier itself and nothing else. Any cost over and above that we do cover ourselves, so we pay the sales tax on your order (if any) and also cover the shipping cost. Hence, we do not provide any tax-exempt forms, since they're not necessary and you can proceed with the order.

Do you accept Purchase Orders?

In cases where our registration as a vendor is NOT required, we do accept Purchase Orders. The process is as follows:

  • First, the agency/institution wanting to purchase our products (buyer) will issue a purchase order and will either email or fax it to us. The purchase order must include Bill TO and Ship TO address, name that should be on the invoice, and phone number and email address of the person(s) responsible for this order.
  • Upon receipt of the purchase order, we will issue an invoice listing the products being ordered with order total, and will email or fax that invoice to the buyer.
  • The buyer will then issue a check and will mail the check together with the invoice to our Accounts Receivable dept.
  • When the check has been received and deposited successfully (5 working day confirmation period after deposit), we will ship all item(s) on the order.

Are your products safe for exotic birds and other animals in the house?

Large percentage of our customers has one or more pets (including birds) inside their homes, and all these customers benefit from our products. Used as directed and set according to the environment where they're placed, our machines are completely safe for birds and the rest of the animals just as they are for humans.

Are your air purifiers safe for pets?

You should know that 65% of our numerous customers have at least one pet in their home. Good percentage of these customers have more than two pets. This includes dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and other domesticated animals. Our air purifiers are designed with you in mind — used as directed they are safe for people and all animals, and these technologies have been used safely and effectively since the early 1980s.

I am concerned about long-term exposure to high concentrations of ozone. Does this apply to your air purifiers, and are your machines safe?

NO this does not apply to our air purifiers, and YES our machines are totally safe, since our air purifiers produce nowhere near the high concentrations of Ozone that could in anyway cause any physical harm. You breathe ozone every single day outdoors. If there is sun outside, you're exposed to ozone. If you're at the beach, you're exposed to ozone. If there is a thunderstorm or lightning outside, you're also breathing ozone, etc. Our machines recreate SAFE levels of ozone indoors, just as what nature does outdoors. Used according to the directions in the Owner's Manual, each unit will produce just trace amounts of ozone, enough to keep the air sanitized and smelling fresh. Furthermore, ozone is even optional on our machines so if you still have doubts whether our unit will suit you or not due to ozone, simply keep the ozone OFF on your machine, as it's only a small part of many different technologies incorporated within each unit! We invite you to learn more about ozone, so you can dispel various misconceptions and myths flowing on the Internet about it, which you can simply ignore. You can start on this page http://www.alpineairtechnologies.com/faq/ozone.shtml and then also visit http://www.alpineairtechnologies.com/presentation/ to see how Ozone works within our units.

Is it legal to sell ozone generators in CA?

Yes, it's legal to sell ozone generators in CA, as long as they meet CA standards. However, our machines are not ozone generators. They are air purifiers, with a flexible ozone component being just a small part of overall technology and fully optional (you can run the unit with Ozone ON or OFF if you prefer and easily adjust ozone output according to your environment). For more information about sales in CA, please visit http://www.alpineairtechnologies.com/support/consumers.shtml

I am in Canada. Do I have to pay duty fees for import into Canada?

We ship to Canada quite often and all of our shipments to Canada are Duty Free! The only thing you would be responsible for is a small brokerage fee in some instances plus the PST/GST tax, which amounts to only about 10% of the order value. We do pay for the actual UPS Ground/Standard shipping cost itself!

Can you send me brochures?

Please note due to complete information being available in our online store www.AlpineAirTechnologies.com, we do not send out brochures at this time, which by their own nature are quite limited in the amount of print space and would not provide much info. Instead, we recommend you review the info on our web site where you will get everything you need. If someone else has asked you to get brochures for them, simply email them a link to our web site and have them review complete info online on our web site.

Is the warranty transferable?

Prior to being shipped from our warehouse each machine is registered for 3-year parts and labor warranty under its Model Name and Serial# to the buyer. However, it is transferable, in cases where we can easily identify the original buyer! Even though our record may indicate the original purchaser's name, if you call we will still provide you with service, as long as we can identify the unit in our system and the original buyer, thus establishing the air purifier was purchased via legitimate channels either directly from us or from one of our dealers. For this reason, we do not need additional names to be registered for warranty. As long as you know and remember the original buyer's full personal and/or business name (or the name under which the unit was first purchased) and you have the Model Name & Serial# of the machine for easy verification, we will provide warranty service for your machine, even though you as the current user may not be the original buyer. Please remember that we will need ALL of the required information to verify legitimate purchase and in-force warranty.

Do your machines feature Lifetime warranty?

Our machines do not feature a lifetime warranty and never have. We have always had a (3) three year parts & labor warranty since inception. Some dealers in the past however may have given customers erroneous info claiming "lifetime warranty". At other times, the dealer may have offered their own extended warranty for the machine past the first 3 years of use for a nominal fee, in which case the independent dealer him/herself took full responsibility to pay any repair costs incurred for the term of the warranty in case of unit breakdown. However, this is not company policy and we can only cover warranty for the initial (3) years of purchase. True Lifetime warranty does not exist in our industry and if anyone offers you such a 'deal' we recommend staying away from this, as this is just a gimmick used by sellers of knock off products to get you to buy. Once you have spent your money, most of the time you won't even get a callback, much less the advertised so-called "lifetime warranty", which will not be provided as promised in most cases. Percentage of our customers has previously fallen victim to this SCAM by purchasing elsewhere from competitors claiming "lifetime warranty", only to end up trading their units to us soon after, since they never received lifetime warranty as originally advertised, and they can attest to this fact.

LA-5000 air purifier (product status)

The LA-5000 machine has been discontinued for now, however the newest Fresh Air LA-3500 v2.0 air purifier has been improved to exert the same amount of power through its 5-stage air purification process. So the new Fresh Air is a good substitute for the LA-5000 model. In fact, two Fresh Air purifiers will be much more effective together than a single LA-5000 unit, and this is what we would recommend for effective air pollution control in a severely polluted commercial establishment. We have many business owners/commercial establishments using the Fresh Air compact unit with great success! You can order the new Fresh Air purifier on a 30-day Zero Risk trial and see for yourself!

What is the average lifespan of these air purifiers?

The average lifespan of our air purifiers is about 10 years. However, the air purifier could last for a lot longer than that and by the same token could also last shorter. This depends on many factors, such as whether monthly maintenance is done correctly and on time; humidity and type of air pollutants in the environment, etc. We see units that are over 20 years old and run fine side by side with units that are 5 years old and no longer work. So there are many factors involved and we cannot predict how long any one machine will last. Yet, we can tell you that using and maintaining the air purifier per our instructions and not having it placed in adverse environment will certainly prolong its lifespan.

How many watts is LA-150 v2.0 car air ionizer?

The LA-150 v2.0 car ionizer is 48 Watts.

What's the purpose of the HEPA back filter on each new unit?

With the exception of LA-1000 and LA-1500 models, the rest of our whole house machines all feature a carbon filter on the back. Please note that this filter is there for one purpose only, and that's to protect the inner mechanism of the unit. The carbon filter itself has nothing to do with purifying your home. That's the job of the air purifier and various need any filters in order to purify the environment. If you're not familiar with our technology, we strongly recommend you review how it works on this page http://www.alpineairtechnologies.com/presentation/ which will answer most if not all of your questions.

I am on Medicare. Can Medicare reimburse me for the cost of the air purifier?

It's quite possible the Medicare will pay in full for the air purifier, especially if your doctor deems the use of the air purifier necessary and prescribes it. You would first purchase the air purifier from us, and then submit the receipt to Medicare for reimbursement. Please contact Medicare to see if you're eligible for such reimbursement and to obtain proper forms to submit the receipt to them for reimbursement. In some cases it may also be possible to submit the paperwork to Medicare and then have them pay you first for the air purifier via a check payment, which you would then forward to us. However, this is NOT the best way to proceed, as this process takes months during which time you will not have the air purifier and will have to wait for it. It is easier and more beneficial to simply purchase the unit yourself for quick delivery, and then wait for Medicare to reimburse you afterwards while already enjoying the benefits of your new air purifier. Don't forget too that paying for the air purifier by credit card gives you 30 days before first (minimum) payment is due, during which time you may already be reimbursed by Medicare and would be able to pay off the entire purchase amount before even making the first payment on your CC! Even if takes a few months to get reimbursed by Medicare, the small monthly CC payment will be easily offset by the benefits you'll get from breathing clean, pollution-free air.

  60. I have an old XL15 air purifier. What's the recommended setting?

I have recently received my new air purifier and I would like to improve its performance. What should I do?

If you're experiencing a performance problem with your new air purifier, it is most likely due to incorrect settings and/or placement of your unit! Please refer to the User Guide and Quick Steps Guide enclosed with your new air purifier for specific instructions applicable to your new machine, and also follow these generic instructions applicable to any new model. If you still can't solve your problem, Live assistance is just a step away:

  • First, please make sure to place your air purifier in the central location of your home or office. For most homes this would be the living or dining room, which is a big open area connecting to the rest of the house. You may also place the air purifier next to the air intake, so the activated oxygen immediately is drawn in and redistributed throughout your entire house. Note that placing a whole house air purifier in a single room is NOT the best location, and will limit its effectiveness. You can certainly place it in a single room for a short period of time to sanitize it (few hours to few days, etc. or as much as needed). However, after the room has been sanitized, you should place your air purifier in a central location of your home or office as described above.
  • Make sure your air purifier is placed at least 4-5 feet off the ground. The HIGHER the better! The closer to the ceiling you can get, the better will be the performance in the long run, so place it as high up as possible (tall book shelf or other such fixtures would be a good place to set the unit on.) Then, make sure the air purifier is facing the center of the area where it's placed (center of the living room, etc.)
  • Adjust the Fan speed to your comfort level, and set the O3 Sanitizer on Low for the first 48 hours. Then, if needed, gradually adjust the O3 level up one notch and test the new setting for another 24-48 hours. The idea is to find the right O3 output for your home, where you do not sense any household odors, and your comfort level is met. Increase the air circulation in your home as much as possible either by having the windows open whenever possible to create a breeze or having the ceiling fans running, or run the air conditioning or heating system, and also keep the doors open slightly to all of your rooms. The better the air circulation is in your home, the quicker the technology will penetrate your entire home and the better results you will get.
  • If there is a particular room that still has a problem, it's quite OK to sanitize it until the problem is resolved. To sanitize any room of your house, place the air purifier in that room, and close all the windows and doors to it. Set the O3 Sanitizer on High and Fan on High and make sure the air purifier is placed centrally in the problem area. Leave the room and close the door, and let the machine run on high settings there for at least 24 hours if possible. Then, turn the machine off and open all doors and windows to ventilate the room well and come back there in about an hour to see if the problem still remains, in which case, you can sanitize for an additional day or so until the problem has been resolved. After problem has been solved, put the unit back in its spot centrally located in your home.

After doing all this, if you're still experiencing a problem with the air purifier's performance, please contact us from the support section.

What are the possible application problems when not using this technology properly?

Symptom: The proper equipment is placed in the environment, but doesn't produce the desired results.
Problem: Lack of air movement, improper placement of the unit.

Symptom: Strong odors still remain with the environment after placement.
Problem: Lack of ozone, improper placement of the unit.

Symptom: A strong odor of ozone is present within the environment.
Problem: Too much ozone accumulation within the environment, as a result of improper purifier control setting, and / or lack of air movement.

Symptom: Visual haze of smoke and / or particulate remains within the environment.
Problem: Lack of ionization and / or air movement.

For proper placement of the unit, proper purifier control settings, and other necessary set-up information, please refer to Owner's Manual. It's very easy to set-up any model Alpine Air Living purifier in your home or office. Simply refer to step-by-step instructions in your Owner's Manual to avoid any problems resulting from improper use.

The Ozone Plate(s) are making a noise, and appear to arc or spark. What can I do?

First, you have to replace the Ozone plate(s) in your machine. If your machine runs on more than 1 plate, then replace the entire set at the same time! You can easily order new Ozone plate(s) right now on our parts page. If you have just replaced the Ozone plate(s) and your air purifier still does not produce Ozone as it should, or the new plate quickly burns out and begins to spark again, etc. then your machine has a bigger problem. In this case, refer to the repairs page to see if your machine is repairable and the cost with available options.

The fan is operating although the unit won't produce any ozone... what's can I do?

First, check the ozone plate(s) for serviceability. If they are cracked, broken, or spark (possibly also making a loud popping sound), or if they are older than 3 years (even if they look brand new), the ozone plate(s) will require replacement! You can easily order new Ozone plates on parts page of our web site. If your unit operates on more than one plate, then you need to replace all plates at the same time, even if only one plate is malfunctioning. As a general rule, for optimal performance of the sanitizing function, you should replace the Ozone plates once every 3 years. Also, ensure proper maintenance procedures required for the ozone plate(s) are performed according to the "Maintenance" section in the respective unit's Owner's Manual. If you've just received a brand new machine with new plates and there is no Ozone, make sure the electrical stainless steel contacts are fully contacting the metal screen portion of the Ozone plate(s) on each side of the plate(s) for both plates inside the unit where the plates fit. Also, inspect the unit for any loose connections. If you're unable to find and/or resolve a problem with a brand new unit you just received, or if you have already ordered new ozone plates for your machine and this did not solve the problem, please visit our support section and follow instructions applicable to your machine there.

Do not attempt to disassemble the unit due to the Limited Warranty of the product.

The fan stopped working on my machine, what can I do?

You can order a new fan motor for your air purifier on the parts page. If this does not solve the problem with your old air purifier, visit the repairs page of our web site to see if your unit is still repairable and available options including repair cost.

The fan motor and/or fan blade is making a sound within my air purifier. How can I troubleshoot this problem?

  1. FIRST, turn OFF and unplug the air purifier. Then, remove the front cover grill from the front of the unit. It's quite easy to remove with a Phillips type screwdriver and on all newer machines you do not even need any tools and can use your fingers to easily unscrew the 4 screws attaching the grill to the cabinet.
  2. Once the front grill is OFF, the fan motor/fan blade is exposed or at least you'll have access to it and can check whether the fan blade is catching on something. Gently spin the fan blade clockwise with your fingers to make sure it rotates freely and is not blocked by anything. On newer models, make sure the fan blade is NOT touching the 2 stainless steel negative ionizer prongs located in front of the fan blade at the top of cabinet on the inside. IF you determine there is contact with the prongs, carefully bend back towards you just a little bit one of the prongs that the fan blade is touching, so that it's away from the fan blade.

*NOTE: On most newer models, the fan motor will be protected by a silver metallic bar in front of it, which cannot be removed unless the unit is disassembled. If this is applicable to your air purifier, then carefully access the blade with your hands from over and under the silver bar.

  3. If the fan blade is not touching anything and freely rotates and still makes a sound, this means most likely there is something lodged between the fan blade and fan motor shaft that it sits on. Use both hands/fingers and carefully push the fan blade back just a little and/or forward to see if this solves the problem, since often this does. You may have to apply a bit of pressure onto the fan blade so that it moves back and forth on the fan motor shaft. Please be careful as not to push it too much backwards towards the fan motor and too much forward towards the front. The fan blade ideally should be situated in the middle of the fan motor shaft.
  4. If the machine is used, clean out the entire fan motor area with compressed air to remove any debris/dust that may have lodged on the fan motor/blade making it squeal. On older machines, if the fan blade is quite dirty, remove it and wash it. When you take the fan blade off, wipe the fan motor shaft also with a damp rag and then with dry paper towel.
  5. If after troubleshooting you determine it is the fan motor itself that is making a sound and not the fan blade, then it would have to be replaced due to being warn out or defective, etc. For older out of warranty air purifiers, you can order new fan motor from our parts page. For under warranty air purifiers, we can send you a new fan motor to replace it yourself, or you can send your air purifier to us to replace the fan motor for you. To arrange under warranty fan motor replacement, please contact us from the support page.

How do I replace the Fan Motor in XL15 air purifier?

NOTE: First, make sure the unit has been unplugged and turned OFF!

Replacement instructions:

From the front of the unit

  1. Remove the 2 knobs for Ozone (Purifier) and Fan by pulling each towards you
  2. Unscrew the front grill and remove
  3. Then, remove the fan blade from the fan motor by gently pulling it towards you. That's all you have to do from the FRONT of the machine

Now from the back

  1. Remove the lint screen filter from the back
  2. Remove the ozone plate(s) from the back
  3. Flip the unit upside down
  4. Remove 4 screws in each corner at the bottom of the machine
  5. Flip the unit back to its upright condition
  6. Now, carefully undue / disengage the wires that connect to the fan motor and the needlepoint ionizer *these 3 separate red wires are coming from inside the unit's chassis and 2 of them connect onto the fan motor and one of them connects onto the needlepoint ionizer located above the fan motor
  7. After wires have been undone, carefully remove the chassis/mechanism from the cabinet and now you have access to the fan motor
  8. The fan motor is connected to the fan motor bracket that supports the fan motor. The connection is with 2 long screws. Unscrew these 2 screws; you may need to use pliers if the screws are rusty especially in case of old fan motors. Or, if there is no way to unscrew because of rust, etc., use cutters to cut/break the screws to remove the old fan motor. NOTE: it's not a problem to break the old screws because each new fan motor has NEW set of screws included!
  9. Ok, after the old fan motor is taken off, put the new fan motor in its place and reconnect it to the metal fan motor supporting bracket using new screws
  10. After new fan motor has been connected, carefully place the chassis/mechanism back into the cabinet making sure that the 2 front metal pieces on which the knobs fit go through the 2 holes on the front of the cabinet, later to insert the 2 knobs back on
  11. Now that the chassis is back inside the cabinet, reconnect the 3 red wires back to where they're supposed to go; 2 wires to the new fan motor (does not matter which wire goes onto which end of the new fan motor) and of course the 3rd wire onto the needlepoint ionizer (it may be easier also to reconnect the needlepoint ionizer wire from the front of the machine by reaching into the chassis from the front, since the ionizer is much closer to the front of the unit)
  12. Once the wires have been reconnected, flip the machine upside down, and fasten the 4 screws that hold the chassis to the cabinet
  13. Flip the unit to its upright position and reconnect the 2 knobs in the front
  14. Now, put back the fan blade onto the new fan motor, gently
  15. Once the fan blade is secure on the new fan motor put back the fan grill on the front of the unit
  16. Put back the Ozone plate(s) and then the lint screen filter on the back, and plug in your machine

NOTE: Depending on the XL air purifier version, you're looking at average 15-30 minutes to replace the fan motor following the above instructions. However, it could take a bit longer if you don't have proper tools, or there is lots of rust/corrosion within the machine not allowing you to replace the parts. If everything was done as above, and the fan motor was the only problem in the unit, it will now work fine. IF new fan motor does not work, that means either something was not connected well (check for secure red wire connection to each end of the fan motor.) OR, it means there is a bigger problem within the unit (electrical) in which case please visit the trade page and consider the trade-in option, since old XL15 air purifiers are no longer repairable.

* Make sure to use a glue gun or adhesive to keep the wire on the air intake affixed to the side so it does not move.

Can I oil the fan motor?

Oiling the fan motor is NOT recommended. It does not help the noise problem, because the noise comes from within the fan motor usually from the worn out bearings, and these bearings already have machine oil on the inside, so adding more oil will not help the problem most of the time. The only solution is to replace the fan motor, and you can get a new fan motor from the parts page of our web site, or from us at NO charge if your machine is under our 3-year parts and labor warranty.

NOTE: When a FAN BLADE is making noise, sometimes lightly oiling the fan motor shaft only (on which the fan blade sits) helps the noise problem. But this is only when the noise comes from the fan blade itself, which is rare! 99% of the time, the noise will come from the worn out fan motor, with only one effective solution to follow - replacement! especially on older air purifier models.

The best way to clean the fan blade is to wipe it with damp cloth. Fan motor itself could be wiped with a dry cloth, or you can use compressed air can to dust away any particulate on it. Such an air can could be bought for under $8 in any office supplies store.

How do I replace the fan blade in my new air purifier?

FAN Blade replacement instructions for all new models:
LA-2000 to Classic LA-3500 (Model #: E300/RH02; 300/RH02; 300/H02; 300/UH02; HL2PRO; ZL-3500/UV)

In order to remove and replace the broken fan blade, you will need to take the unit apart. It's quite easy to remove the chassis (unit mechanism) from the cabinet, remove the broken fan blade, and replace it with the new blade. This is what you have to do, which takes about 15 minutes:

  1. Unscrew the 2 knobs on the front of the unit. This is the 03/Sanitizer left knob and the Fan/UV right knob. You will see that each knob is attached to the unit with a small screw. Look at each knob and locate the little round opening within each knob to access the screws.
  2. Once the single screw has been undone on each knob, carefully flip the unit upside down, and place it in this upside down position on hard surface (table, countertop, etc.) and unscrew the 2 bottom bolts. Once this is done, carefully flip the unit back to its upright position, set it on hard surface and now you can remove the chassis from the cabinet. Once it has been removed, set it on hard surface.
  3. Now, carefully unscrew and remove the metal protection bar in front of the blade to have easy access to the blade. Remove the broken fan blade from the unit, and carefully insert the new fan blade in its place by rocking it back & forth and applying gentle pressure onto the blade so it goes onto the fan motor shaft. The blade should be positioned/sitting in the middle of the fan motor shaft, which is about half way from the fan motor itself and half way from the front of the fan motor shaft. It should not be too close to the fan motor, and not at the very front of the fan motor shaft either, because then it may touch the 2 metal prongs of the negative ionizer. So again, it should be placed in the middle of the fan motor shaft about an inch away from each end of the fan motor.
  4. Next, carefully reattach the metal bar in front of the fan blade (and screw in the green ground wire connecting to the metal bar, if applicable to your model). Then put the chassis back into the cabinet all the way. Place the thick Hepa/carbon filter on the back of the unit (and metallic photo catalytic filter if applicable to your model), and plug it in.
  5. Now, turn the unit ON (right knob only) except that the knob will be off the unit, so just turn clockwise the metal piece that the knob sits on, and see if the fan spins OK without making unusual noise. Make sure that the left O3/Sanitizer control is OFF! You're only turning On the unit, while keeping the Sanitizer in the OFF position.
  6. If everything is fine, unplug and reassemble the unit by following the instructions above in reverse.

How do I tighten a loose fan blade in my new air purifier?

FAN Blade clamp tightening instructions for all new models:
LA-2000 to Classic LA-3500 (Model #: E300/RH02; 300/RH02; 300/H02; 300/UH02; HL2PRO; ZL-3500/UV)

In order to tighten the fan blade, you will need to take the unit apart. It's quite easy to remove the chassis (unit mechanism) from the cabinet.

The blade should be positioned/sitting in the middle of the fan motor shaft, which is about half way from the fan motor body and half way from the front of the fan motor shaft. It should not be too close to the fan motor body, and not at the very front of the fan motor shaft either, because then it may touch the 2 metal prongs of the negative ionizer. So again, it should be placed in the middle of the fan motor shaft about an inch away from each end of the fan motor. Without removing the fan blade, tighten the metal clamp of the fan blade by using pliers. This small metal clamp is right in the middle of the fan blade over its opening through which the fan motor shaft fits.
  4. Next, carefully reattach the metal bar in front of the fan blade (and screw in the green ground wire connecting to the metal bar, if applicable to your model). Then put the chassis back into the cabinet all the way and reassemble the unit by following the instructions above in reverse. Monitor the fan blade movement for the next few days to see if the problem has been resolved.

Red service light came on the old air purifier I have. What caused it and how can I get it to go off?

Red service light could be caused by various factors and/or problems within the older air purifier, and there is really no way to tell what caused it unless the air purifier is taken apart and each component is tested. Since we no longer provide support for these old out of circulation units (see the repairs page), if your machine is not functioning well, please consider upgrading your unit through our exclusive trade-in program, established specifically for such situations. We made this option quite easy and affordable for most of our customers, and you can complete your trade right from our web site in just a few minutes in 3 easy steps outlined on the trade-in page.

I have plugged in the unit, turned "ON" the power switch and nothing happens... what can I do?

  1. Make sure the electrical outlet is capable of providing power to the unit. Try several electrical outlets within your house, place of business, or wherever the unit is placed.
  2. Check the mesh lint screen cover located on the back of the machine to ensure that the safety switch activator clip pushes the safety switch. NOTE: This does not apply to all purifier models. Your model may or may not have the removable "lint screen cover" feature. Check the owner's manual for this feature and the Troubleshooting section of your purifier's owner's manual. DO NOT try to disassemble or service the purifier yourself. Strictly follow the Troubleshooting procedure and guidelines according to the owner's manual.
    • OLDER MACHINES: Replace the fuse in your air purifier and see if it powers on with the new fuse installed. Refer to the User Guide / Owner's Manual of your unit for correct frequency fuse. Most air purifiers require the 1 AMP 250V Fast Acting fuse. However some models like the Fresh Air purifier operate on 1.5 AMP 250V Fast Acting fuse, which is also a bit smaller in size. You can get a new fuse in any local Home Depot or Radio Shack for under $2. If you're not sure which fuse you need, simply remove the existing fuse and bring it with you to the store, so they can match it for you. You want to make sure to replace the existing fuse with the right frequency new fuse, otherwise your air purifier will not work. The fuse compartment in most models is located on the back of the air purifier for easy access, and you can easily unscrew and/or pull out the black fuse cap to remove and replace the original fuse. In case of no power, replace the fuse even if the original still looks OK! After replacing the fuse, we also recommend trying a different power outlet in your home to see if it helps.
    • NEW MACHINES: Replacement fuse is included with every new air purifier sent. If you have just received the new air purifier and you've plugged it in for the first time, check to see if the original fuse was damaged in any way in transit (the glass cylinder itself or the very thin solid line within the fuse will be broken if it's damaged, just like in a light bulb.) Replace the fuse even if the original still looks OK, and then try a different power outlet in your home to see if it helps.
  3. Ensure that the fuse cap is completely seated and secured in its receptacle.
  4. If after trying all of the above and following additional troubleshooting procedures in your air purifier's User Guide the problem still remains:
    • OLDER (out of warranty) MACHINES: Please see the repairs page to check if your machine is repairable or not and the cost involved, plus other available options.
    • NEW (under 3-year warranty) MACHINES: Please contact our troubleshooting dept. by phone or email from the support section.

I have an older air purifier with indicator light bulb(s) and these light bulb(s) no longer work within the unit. What should I do?

You can disregard the indicator light bulb(s) within the machine, as long as the unit works just fine. It's possible for these bulbs to simply burn out over time. If you can sense clean fresh air in your home and do not notice dust (or other airborne particle) accumulation, then you know your machine is working. On the other hand, if you cannot sense or tell the machine is working, then there's most likely a mechanical problem within your unit as a result of which the light bulb indicator(s) do not work. If this is the case with your machine, please visit the repairs page of our web site to see if you unit is still repairable and available options including repair cost.

How am I able to know if the Radio Frequency Ionizer is working?

The quickest and the surest way to determine whether the RF ionization system is working or not within your air purifier is to look around your environment for sure tale signs.

Just like radio waves, you cannot see the ions with a naked eye, yet they do travel throughout your whole environment reducing and eliminating dust, pollen, smoke, animal dander, and anything else microscopic suspended in the air. Remember, they travel through walls, ceiling, floors, and anything else that's not metal. The job of negative ions is to bond with air pollutants, in a process making them heavier, thus making them fall to the ground because of gravity. So some of the obvious signs you may see in the very beginning showing you that radio wave ionization is working, is less dust and other particles floating in the air, and more dust settling on the furniture, floor, or carpet. This is because dust and other air pollutants are starting to come down from the air, instead of just floating and being suspended there. Reduction of allergies, sinus problems, and other symptoms which could be attributed to indoor air pollution is also a sure sign that ionization is working properly, cleansing the air.

I have an older Fresh Air purifier and it's prompting me to replace the UV bulb. Do you have this part?

Yes, if the UV bulb has burned out in it, your Fresh air purifier will prompt you to replace it, in which case you can certainly order a replacement bulb from us. This part has to be replaced together with the starter, and you can get that in a package from us. Simply visit the parts page of our web site, where you will see this item towards the bottom of the page.

How do I replace the UV bulb in my new air purifier?

UV bulb replacement instructions for all new models:
LA-2000 to Fresh LA-3500 (Model #: E300/RH02; 300/RH02; 300/UH02; HL2PRO; ZL-3500/UV; HMA-300/CHO)

It's quite easy to replace the UV bulb, which can simply burn out just like any other light bulb. It sits inside the air purifier and can be seen and accessed through the back of the air purifier, when the back filter is removed. It's located in the middle of the air purifier in vertical position, attached via (2) screws (top & bottom) to the back of the Ozone plate cage. All you need to do to replace it is:

  1. Remove the 2 screws holding it in place
  2. Carefully detach the wire, which connects to the bottom of the UV bulb circuit board
  3. Replace the UV bulb and reattach following the same steps in reverse

NOTE: the entire UV bulb circuit board is what gets replaced! The UV bulb itself is attached to the circuit board, is part of it and cannot be detached.

How does the TIMER work on Alpine model# HMA-300/CHO Fresh Air LA-3500 v2.0 air purifier?

The timer feature on Model# HMA-300 CHO Fresh Air purifier is optional and designed mostly for convenience for those who are extra sensitive to Ozone and prefer for the machine itself to control the Ozone output throughout the day, rather than the user manually controlling it. The timer could be set for a one-time operation throughout the day, according to user's preferences. Meaning, the air purifier can be programmed/timed to turn itself On or OFF once at a specific time of day, just as the User Guide indicates. For example, you could have the air purifier OFF and then turn itself ON when you go to work, etc. Controlling the unit manually could me more beneficial, as it allows you to run the unit 24/7 without interruption and have only the functions you want available. On this model, just like the rest, the Ozone feature could be turned On and OFF at will manually, and with the Ozone OFF, the rest of the functions will still be performed (i.e. Negative Ionization, UV germicidal sanitizing, etc.) while the air purifier is running. In essence, you could manually control the Ozone output (sanitizing component) to your liking (and even have it off) while the air purifier performs all of its other functions 24/7. Using the timer however, there will be period when the entire air purifier is OFF. In summary, you can control the Ozone output using a Timer or manually. You can certainly try both methods and see which works best for you and your house. Some people prefer manual Ozone control, while others love the Timer feature!

I can't find the fuse compartment for model# ZL3 Fresh Air purifier or model# HMA-300/CHO Fresh Air purifier. Can you help me?

It is NOT necessary to remove the back of the machine to access the fuse, and please do not remove the back! The fuse compartment is located on the back of your unit, exactly where the power cord plugs in (you will see its exact location shown within the User Guide if you cannot find it yourself by looking at the back of the unit). So look exactly at the place where power cord plugs in on the back of your machine. Basically, the fuse cabinet is located within the plastic assembly into which the power cord plugs in. You should see an imprint image of the fuse on plastic part of this assembly, and that's the small cabinet itself, which you need to pull out. Simply remove the fuse by unlocking the fuse cabinet with the help of a flat head screwdriver, and replace the original fuse (even if the original still looks OK!) The fuse you need is 1.5 AMP 250V Fast Acting fuse, which you can pick up in any local Home Depot or Radio Shack for under $2. After replacing the fuse, we also recommend trying a different power outlet in your home to see if the air purifier will turn On.

Model# ZL3 Fresh Air purifier has no Power. How do I troubleshoot it?

FIRST, make sure the unit is turned ON in the back AND in FRONT! BOTH the back switch and the front panel Power button have to be ON at the same time. So it's possible when performing maintenance you have turned OFF the Power switch at the back in which case the unit will not turn ON from the front! So make sure you try to power on the unit from the front while turning the back switch on and off, if you can't tell whether the back switch is On or Off. IF doing this does not turn ON the machine, then next step is to replace the fuse even if it looks OK. The fuse holder compartment is located between the power cord plug-in and the ON/OFF switch on the back of the unit. Turn OFF the unit and unplug the cord from the back of the machine. Locate the fuse holder compartment and then gently pull the fuse holder straight out. Refer to page 13 of the User Guide for the exact location of the fuse should you have problem locating it. Bring this fuse to your local Home Depot for replacement. You need a "1.6 AMP slow blow fuse", which you'll find in Home Depot for under $1 dollar. Also, refer to the User Guide/Owner's Manual of your air purifier, specifically the Troubleshooting Section on page.14. The very first question (addressing "no power" problem) within the User Guide is addressed in steps and tells you what to look for. So the User Guide is a good reference for you to get the unit up & running, in addition to these troubleshooting tips.

Model# ZL3 Fresh Air purifier has no Ozone smell. How do I troubleshoot it?

Before replacing the ozone plate, try these easy troubleshooting tips:

  • First, check if your air purifier is displaying Service Code E001 on its LCD panel, which usually comes up when Ozone plate needs to be cleaned or replaced. However, it may also mean loose ozone plate connection! Unplug and turn off the air purifier machine and inspect the Ozone plate contacts. These are the electrical stainless steel contacts on each side of the Ozone plate, and each touches the Ozone plate (one from the left side and one from the right side.) BOTH have to touch/fully contact the metal grid portion of the plate. If there is little or no contact, Ozone will not be produced! These electrical tabs/stainless steel contacts must be in full contact with the metal grid/screen of the Ozone plate on both sides of the plate. Remove the ozone plate from the unit, and then move carefully the stainless steel contacts of the Ozone cage assembly towards each other...this will assure that when the plate is inserted, it's fully engaged on both sides by the metal stainless steel wings of the Ozone cage assembly where the plate fits. Again, these metal stainless steel wings must fully touch the Ozone plate's metal grid on each side of the plate.
  • NEXT, check to make sure the Ozone is actually ON

It's possible to operate the air purifier with the Ozone OFF and not realize this. At least one of the PURIFY stages displayed on the main screen/LCD panel has to be displayed! To confirm, press PURIFY (UP) button on the front panel of the unit to activate the Ozone output. Once you see the "Purify I" on the front panel, increase the Ozone output to the next stage/level (Purify II and so on)

  • If none of the above resolves the problem, get a new Ozone plate from our parts page.

What are the Error Codes on Model# ZL3 Fresh Air purifier?

E001 - ozone plate needs to be cleaned or replaced
E002 - UV bulb needs to be replaced
E003 - back carbon filter needs to be cleaned
NOTE: When any cleaning has been performed, remember to push the RESET button to reset the maintenance cycle!

Model# ZL3 Fresh Air purifier uses 1.6 AMP slow blow fuse

I have an older Fresh Air purifier and it keeps giving me the "replace Ozone plate" message, even though I had already replaced it. What can I do?

Have you reset the machine after inserting the new plate? If not, please do so and then try to adjust the ozone output. There is a very small round 'reset' window on the front panel of your machine, and that's what you have to press to reset it. Please refer to the User Guide of your unit for further info. If this does not help, try cleaning the two metal wings engaging the Ozone plate on each side of it, with a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol. Then reset again. If still does not work, it means there is a problem with PCB (main board) or an LCD panel or both, in which case, visit the repairs page of our web site to see if you unit is still repairable and available options including repair cost.

My older Fresh Air purifier turns itself on and off periodically (power loss). What can I do?

It's difficult to determine the exact problem in this case without first testing your machine. It's most likely the power supply and/or bad PCB panel (main board) that's malfunctioning. If this is an older out of warranty unit, please visit repairs page to see if your air purifier qualifies for repair and the cost involved, plus other options available to you.

My older Fresh Air purifier is in sanitizing mode. How do I get it out of that mode?

The "sanitizing mode", which is an optional mode for your fresh air purifier, could be used for various circumstances normally to quickly sanitize a particular area. During the sanitizing mode, higher amount of activated oxygen is released, and since some people are more sensitive to higher amounts it is recommended to vacate the area being sanitized. Simply turn OFF your machine, then turn it back ON after 30 seconds and that should clear the sanitizing mode and revert it back to normal settings you had on it before. For more info, you can consult the Owner's manual for your unit.

I have an older Fresh Air purifier and it wont stop giving me the cleaning prompt.

On your air purifier, there is a tiny RESET button window (small white circle, next to Purify UP and DOWN buttons on the front panel of the unit.) You can take a pencil and gently press this RESET window, and this should clear and reset the cleaning cycle memory for another 30 days. Please refer to the Owner's Manual/User Guide of your unit for additional information on resetting the maintenance cycle.

What is the right frequency fuse for my air purifier?

Most air purifiers require the 1 AMP 250V Fast Acting fuse. However some models like the Fresh Air purifier operate on 1.5 AMP 250V Fast Acting fuse, which is a bit smaller in size. Please refer to the User Guide of your machine (if available) to see the right frequency fuse you need. Otherwise, simply remove the existing fuse and bring it with you to the store, so they can match it for you. You can get a new fuse in any local Home Depot or Radio Shack for under $2.

Is it easy to clean my Alpine Air Living purifier and how often do I have to clean it?

All Alpine Air Living purifiers are designed to be almost maintenance free. However the little cleaning involved, is very easy to do and takes almost no time. How often you will have to clean your unit depends on how polluted your indoor environment is. In case of severely polluted environment, during the first few weeks of operation, you might have to clean the unit once every week or two weeks. However afterwards, it can be cleaned only once a month. If you don't have a severely polluted environment, you will clean the unit a lot less. Please refer to your owner's manual for more details.

What is the best way of cleaning my unit?

We strongly recommend to perform basic monthly maintenance on your air purifier, in order to maintain performance and increase your air purifier's lifespan. Once every 30 days you should wash the ceramic Ozone plates in warm water with a bit of clear or lemon ammonia added (optional; if you have it, then mix 1 teaspoon of ammonia with 1 cup of water). Soak the plates in warm water (with ammonia mix) for a few minutes and then rinse them well on both sides and use an old toothbrush to gently scrub the metal screen on each side of the plate to remove any residue. Allow the plates to dry fully before reinserting them back into the unit! If your air purifier also features the back carbon filter, it should be cleaned at the same time as Ozone plates. We recommend using a can of compressed air, which you can easily obtain from any local Home Depot or any office superstore to spray the dust off the filter, and in addition wash the filter once every 90 days. You should replace the back filter at least once a year and replace the Ozone plates at least once every 3 years or sooner if you notice the Ozone output has decreased or the plate is arching and/or producing an abnormal sound. You can order replacement Ozone plates and back filters on our parts page at your convenience. Furthermore, you can use the compressed air effectively to get rid of any dust inside the unit once every few months or so as needed, at the time of performing regular monthly maintenance when the back filter has been removed. At the same time, you can also easily unscrew and take off the front grill of the air purifier and use compressed air to clean the fan motor; fan blade, and the surrounding areas as needed. For additional specific maintenance instructions applicable to your model, please refer to the User Guide of your air purifier. Please note that User Guides for old, out of circulation air purifiers are no longer available, and you can just follow these generic maintenance instructions.

How do I wash with water the back Hepa/carbon filter of my new air purifier? (Model #s: 300/RH02; E300/RH02)

We recommend not to use soap or any detergents, because soap leaves residue and chemicals within the soap/detergents may eat through the carbon materials. Warm water is sufficient with an old toothbrush to get any dirt out. When the filter is fully dry after washing, use compressed air to get out the rest of the dirt if any remains.

You do not have to wash the back filter once every 30 days, unless it gets really dirty every month. You can just use the compressed air once a month and then wash the filter once every 3 months or so, depending on how quickly the filter becomes dirty enough for washing. The carbon material will naturally lose some color with every wash, which is OK.

How do I wash the back (black) charcoal filter of XL-15 living air classic air purifier or the BreezeAT living air purifier?

For model #s: XL-15C and XL-15S and all BreezeAT air purifiers, the back filter should be cleaned once every 30 days. The charcoal metal frame filter is washable and could be washed once every 30 days. However, just like with the newer back carbon filter for newer models, it could be hand-vacuumed once a month or dusted with compressed air, and then washed once every 90 days depending on the amount of pollution where the unit is placed.

How do I wash the back (silver) metallic filter of these older models: Flair, 880, HMA-150, HMA-250, Blaster, or other living air purifiers?

See the filter maintenance for XL15 air purifier above, which also applies to the rest of the old living air purifiers.

How do I sanitize an area?

First, choose the area you would like to sanitize quickly. For best results, the area should be confined to 4 walls (i.e. bedroom, basement, attic, etc.) and not be wide open (i.e. living room or kitchen, etc.) So any single room which does not connect to any other open space and could be closed off will usually be OK to sanitize for good results.

  1. Bring your air purifier there, place it in the middle of the room, and set all controls on HIGH. So both the FAN and the Ozone output will be at the highest setting. On air purifier models featuring 2 knobs, simply turn each knob clockwise all the way to HIGH or maximum sq.ft. indicated on the air purifier dial. On electronic models (i.e. BreezeAT, Fresh Air, etc.) use the Purifier/O3 Sanitizer UP and Fan UP buttons to bring these settings to the highest level. If your electronic model features the 'Away / Sanitizing Mode', you do not have to push the UP buttons; simply use the Away Mode button to immediately bring the unit into the sanitizing mode. Once you've set your machine in Sanitizing mode, lock the doors to the room being sanitized and also make sure all the windows are closed in that room. Leave the unit running there for a minimum of 24 hours if possible (on electronic models where Away Mode is used, maximum time will be 10 hours, so you will have to go in and reset the Away Mode after Sanitizing mode turns itself off after the first 10 hours.)
  2. During the sanitizing mode, higher amount of activated oxygen is released, and since some people are more sensitive to higher amounts, it is recommended not to be in the room being sanitized and to vacate the area being sanitized until sanitizing has been completed (24 hours minimum for best results). Once it's done, simply turn OFF your machine, and open all doors and windows in that room to allow the area to ventilate. Within an hour most of Ozone in that room will revert back to oxygen at which time strong ozone scent will be gone and you can reoccupy that room. For more info, you can consult the Owner's Manual for your unit.
  3. Even though 24 hours is sufficient in most circumstances to quickly remove indoor air pollution and sanitize the area effectively, at times (depending on environment, type of air pollution and its amount) it maybe necessary to repeat the process for another day or until the air pollution has been fully removed (i.e. odors, chemical smells, mold, etc.) You can run your air purifier in sanitizing mode in an unoccupied area for as long as it's necessary. How long you should run it on Away Mode (and whether you should even sanitize the area to begin with) really depends on the problem you're trying to solve. Refer to the Owner's Manual of your unit for Sanitizing/Away Mode procedure and recommended time frame.

I have Alpine Model# E300/A air purifier, and would like to disassemble it to clean it thoroughly. What's the best way to do this and will this void my warranty?

As long as you're careful disassembling and then assembling back your air purifier to perform deep cleaning, and do not damage any of the internal components along the way, your warranty will still be in effect. Please read the instructions below on how to remove the housing/chassis of the unit from the cabinet to clean it thoroughly. You can then follow these instructions in reverse to re-assemble your air purifier.

  1. Dismantle the front panel grill

Loosen the four screws holding the front panel grill, then remove the grill.

  2. Dismantle the two knobs controlling Ionizer/Fan & Sanitizer on the front of the unit

Loosen the screws holding the knobs with a small flat head screwdriver, and proceed to remove the knobs.

  3. Dismantle the housing

Carefully flip the unit upside down. Then, loosen and remove the two bottom screws. Now you can carefully remove the housing, and set it in upright position on hard surface.

Now that the chassis/housing is exposed, you can clean it. We strongly recommend using compressed air to blow out any dust and/or other matter, which may have accumulated within the chassis/housing, and also use compressed air inside the cabinet. You can obtain a can of compressed air in any local office or hardware store (Office Depot; Home Depot, etc.) If you also want to use cloth to wipe out some of the components, please use dry cloth only, and be extra careful while cleaning the machine and during its reassembly, to avoid any damage.

What settings on the purifier should I use?

Please refer to the specific unit's Owner's Manual for proper operation procedures. It would be to your advantage, to read and really understand the Owner's Manual. This will familiarize you with the product, as well as help you understand the principles of each unit and respective features. In general it is not necessary to exceed the "smallest area" (of square footage) on the labeled indication settings, located on the purifier control.

How do I adjust the Ozone output?

On most air purifier machines older and newer, simply turn the O3 Sanitizer/Purifier knob down to LOW (or lowest sq.ft. setting) on your machine, and then refer to User Guide of your unit for proper settings.

I have the unit with O3 / Sanitizer set on LOW and Ozone scent is still too strong. What can I do?

You can try several solutions and pick whichever works best for you. First, make sure that Ozone does not simply accumulate in one area of your home, which could mean stronger ozone smell in that area. To prevent ozone from accumulating, improve the airflow / air circulation within your house. You can open the windows to create a slight breeze, and/or you can run the ceiling fans to move the air around, and/or air conditioning or heating system, etc. Doing this will improve the airflow in your house and should resolve the issue. If it does not, simply remove one of the ceramic ozone plates from your machine (does not matter which side) and run the O3 / Sanitizer control of your air purifier on (1) ceramic ozone plate only. Your air purifier running with only (1) ceramic ozone plate inserted on LOW O3 / Sanitizer setting equates to about 250 sq.ft. coverage and just trace amounts of ozone being released, which in this case would be sufficient for your environment! You can also consider running the Ozone intermittently, from time to time, according to your comfort level and actual need for Ozone inside your house. So simply adapt the machine to your comfort level and your environment. Remember, that even with the Ozone OFF, your machine will be performing just fine and the rest of the technologies (negative ionization, germicidal UV, etc.) will still be functional. So if necessary, use the Ozone (sanitizing component) sparingly according to your comfort level and environment.

When O3 / Sanitizer is turned ON, the knob right away moves to the LOW setting (9 o'clock position). Is this normal?

Yes, this is normal. The LOW O3 / Sanitizer setting (ozone output) equates to approximately 500 sq.ft. coverage on all machines. This is what you should start with no matter how big your house is, and then test from there to see if you actually need a higher O3 / Sanitizer setting.

I cannot sense the Ozone as much on my NEW air purifier compared to my OLD air purifier. Is this normal?

Every individual's ozone sensitivity differs. What may seem like "too much ozone" to one person may be "too little ozone" to another. We took this into consideration and designed all NEW air purifiers to be perfectly balanced! The new air purifiers release just the right amount of ozone necessary for any home, and this ozone production happens gradually, evenly, and more effectively than on any of the older models. The newer air purifiers are designed to bring comfort to everyone no matter what the sensitivity level of an individual is to ozone. Nobody should feel any discomfort from the air purifier and each new machine is quite flexible and can be easily adjusted up and down for comfort level and complete air pollution control.

Unlike the older air purifier models, the newest air purifiers will NOT easily overwhelm the area where they're placed. Some of our older customers may have gotten used to the stronger presence of ozone from the old air purifiers and now think it's the norm. Actually, it's not, and constantly smelling ozone is not even necessary and provides no additional benefits! We find that some customers with older machines had their units set improperly to begin with - with too much ozone output, some even in constant sanitizing mode - they got used to that, and now think this is the way all units should always run, which is not correct way to setup the air purifier! The newer machines will not release as much ozone even on higher settings, and this is normal! The purpose of the air purifier is not for customer to sense ozone in the air. Its purpose is to reduce and remove airborne contaminants and break them down, and under normal circumstances having trace amounts of ozone released into the air is sufficient for this purpose. At ideal Ozone setting, you will sense it just a bit when you enter your home from the street, and after a few minutes you won't sense it at all! You see, you don't have to smell the ozone constantly and just because you don't smell it does not mean the unit is not working. As long as the household odors are gone, and you have clean easy to breathe air, that's all you're looking for! That tells you that you have the correct ozone setting and not the other way around where you constantly smell the ozone, which is just the opposite and tells you that you have a higher than necessary ozone setting.

Also, it's important to note that the Sanitizer SQ.FT. indicator dial (ozone output) is approximate on old and new air purifiers and is NOT exact! Meaning that the actual ozone output may vary house to house, depending on various factors that may influence the actual sq.ft. coverage, such as humidity in the air, the size of the room where the unit is placed, air circulation in that room that carries Ozone elsewhere throughout the house, etc. Any one of these factors may influence the actual sq.ft. covered by ozone. In addition, there is a bit of difference between the new and old technology as described above. Whereas, the old machines very quickly overwhelmed the area they were placed in even on lower settings, the new air purifiers are designed to release very little (trace) amount of ozone on low settings (500-1000 sq.ft) and very gradually increase the production as you move the O3/Ozone output dial up. So if you're getting the same effect with a new air purifier on let's say 2,000 sq.ft. as you did with the old unit at 1,000 sq.ft, there is nothing wrong with the new air purifier! It's just that it's designed to gradually and evenly bring the ozone into the air while not overwhelming the user and causing any discomfort at the same time! Simply find the right ozone setting on your new air purifier where the air in your house feels fresh and ozone scent meets your comfort level at the same time.

Also, overtime it's quite normal for the Ozone to be LESS noticeable in the area where the unit is placed. It does not mean the unit is not functioning right. Unless the Ozone plates are NOT being maintained properly, this usually has to do with two factors:

  1. The ceramic plate(s) used in Ozone production weaken a bit over time as a result of high voltage running through them 24/7.
  2. The User - you - get used to the presence of Ozone over time and don't sense it as much!

As long as you can sense it at least for a few minutes when you enter your house from the street, it's an indicator that Ozone (sanitizing component of the unit) is functioning OK. Also, there should be no musty house smells, pet smells, cooking odors lingering for a long time, etc., which tells you Ozone is present in the environment.

You also may consider turning up the O3 knob a bit to compensate for the plates becoming a bit weaker if you still want to smell the Ozone constantly in the house. However, remember that it's NOT necessary for you to sense Ozone all the time. Only trace amounts is what is really needed to prevent any problems from developing and maintain the air clean.

Shouldn't I sense the ozone all the time to know if my machine is working?

You do NOT have to smell Ozone all of the time in your house. This is not the purpose of your air purifier. Its purpose is to reduce and remove airborne contaminants and break them down. At ideal Ozone setting, you will sense it just a bit when you enter your home from the street, and after a few minutes you won't sense it at all! You see, you don't have to smell the ozone constantly and just because you don't smell it does not mean the unit is not working. Do you smell the ozone constantly outdoors every day 24/7? Of course not, but it's there, with every ray of sunshine that comes down to earth. You may sense it in large quantity after a thunderstorm, but then it does its job and quickly dissipates to where you soon can't smell it anymore. Same thing in your home... As long as the household odors are gone, and you have clean easy to breathe air, that's all you're looking for! This tells you that you have the correct ozone setting and not the other way around where you constantly smell the ozone, which is just the opposite and tells you that you have a higher than necessary ozone setting. So adjust the fan to your comfort level (Low or Medium), and set the O3/ozone to the level where you do not sense any household odors, and it will work just fine for you!

What settings do I use when operating a DC ionizer?

The normal setting of a DC ionizer is full negative. This setting seems to work best in removing particulate as well as reducing static electricity. When trying to reduce static, if the full negative setting results in more static, turn the control in small increments towards the positive setting until the static problem is relieved.

I noticed on my air purifier that some of the screws were starting to show corrosion. There was also corrosion on what appears to be a transformer at the front of the motherboard. Should I be concerned about this?

This tells us there may be some humidity in your house from time to time, which most likely is what has caused some of the corrosion you're seeing. Make sure to protect your machine from humidity as much as possible! For example, during the humid summer days, run your air conditioner instead of opening the windows, etc. and/or you can get an affordable de-humidifier locally or online to place where your air purifier is located and run it in combination with your air purifier seasonally when humidity is present. This will prevent further rust and eventual breakdown of the unit. As is right now, you don't have to worry about your machine as long as it's working OK. Just monitor its performance and only should you notice a problem, let us know at that time. However, definitely consider getting an affordable de-humidifier as soon as possible if you do not already have one. As a side note, all of our newest machines have undergone two separate upgrades, and one of the improvements in the newer machines is many more stainless steel components to protect the machine better against rust and corrosion over time, due to excess humidity, etc.

Do I have to turn off my Alpine Air Living purifier before going to sleep, or when I leave my house?

The Alpine Air Living purifier is designed to work 24hrs/day, 7 days/week, to cleanse and keep your indoor environment pollution free. You should not turn off your unit at any time.

Are the Owner's Manuals available for older machines?

Manuals are no longer available for most older machines, listed on our repairs page as being out of service.

I would like to have my unit professionally checked and cleaned. Do you have local technical support reps that provide such service?

Due to current state of economy, we were forced to downsize and currently do not employ technical support reps locally to service air purifiers. If there is an active independent dealer in your area, he/she maybe able to provide such a service at a fee at their discretion. If your machine is not performing well, please review the applicable FAQ dealing with the specific issue for possible solutions. After applying the solution(s) if the issue still remains unresolved, visit the repairs page to see if your machine could be repaired and other options available. If your machine is currently working well, we recommend you read the applicable cleaning/maintenance procedure and tips included in this section to maintain your unit accordingly.

Who pays for the shipping under warranty?

Within the first 30 days of order, we fully cover the shipping back and forth should the machine is found to be defective and needs to be replaced. After that and for the duration of our 3-year parts and labor warranty, customer covers the shipping cost to the repair facility where we repair or exchange the unit at no charge, and of course we pay for the shipping back to customer (see terms).

I have an old EcoBox air purifier. What's the warranty on it and should I get it repaired?

The older Ecobox model was warrantied for only one (1) year after purchase. It's difficult to predict its life expectancy, which depends on various internal and external factors, such as whether maintenance is performed periodically, what the humidity levels are where the unit is placed, etc. Ecobox is NOT a powerful unit, because it only features a 2-hour away mode and does not have the ability to run the sanitizer 24/7 in trace amounts. Hence, it has very limited coverage. This unit should be used in a small room, where it will be most effective. However outside of that room, you certainly need a more powerful machine that incorporates all of the technologies to effectively sanitize the entire home. So in summary, Ecobox serves well to complement a larger, more powerful machine in your home. However, by itself it may not be as effective.

If your Ecobox is out of warranty and is no longer working, we do NOT recommend for you to invest additional money and time into repairing this unit. It's not worth that. Instead, we recommend you go through our trade-in program and upgrade to a newer, more effective and powerful machine that will serve your entire home, list of which you will see on the trade-in page.

I have an old XL15 Sensor model. Should I have the sensor ON or OFF to remove odors quickly?

IF the unit works properly, the odor will be removed on either of the settings. The only difference is, when the Ozone sensor is enabled, it will measure the amount of Ozone in the air and will shut down the production of Ozone when it surpasses the sq.ft. covered as set on the Purifier/O3 dial. When you switch the unit to auto mode, the sensor is activated and it measures the amount of ozone in the air, based on which it either allows additional release from the unit or nothing at all until the ozone present in the environment for the sq.ft. indicated subsides. The quickest way to remove smoke smell for example, is to run the unit with the sensor disabled and at a slightly higher than normal O3 output to quickly saturate the area in which the unit has been placed with Ozone, and thus breakdown the cigarette smell. Then, when the problem has been resolved, turn the O3 down to normal levels (begin at 500 sq.ft. and test from there until you find a good setting for your home.) Either way, however with the Ozone sensor on or off, it should work!

Is there a User Guide for Single Room LA-500 v2.0 air purifier?

The Atlas Tower Single Room LA-500, model# GH-9088B comes only with the Important Safety Instructions pamphlet. Within this pamphlet you will find operating and cleaning instructions, in addition to safety information. Because this model requires very little to operate and very basic maintenance, there are no additional User Guides/Owner's Manuals that come with this particular model.

After using my air purifier, I noticed film on windows. Why is that?

The film on windows does not mean the air purifier is malfunctioning, and it is very rare that unit operation would leave a film on windows. This happens when there is lack of sufficient air flow/circulation inside the house. We recommend opening the windows more often creating a breeze, or running a fan close to where the unit is, which will help to disburse the ions and prevent them from accumulating in just one particular area of your home. You can also try moving the air purifier to another location with better air flow inside your home. Doing this should take care of the problem. If you placed a whole house air purifier in one small room, as opposed to a big open area like a living/dining room, etc., it's possible for the ions to accumulate quite rapidly because of very limited air circulation.

I have a 6-plate Model# HMA-250 air purifier. What does "right side only" mean? Are replacement ozone plates still available for this model?

This is a commercial air purifier, manufactured in early 1990's. Its sole purpose was to sanitize the air and it did not feature ionization for removal of airborne particles, thus this machine was not meant for residential 24/7 operation. Parts for this model, including the right-side only (single side) ozone plates are no longer available as of many years ago, and our universal ozone plates do not fit this model. We recommend you upgrade this machine to the newest commercial air purifier — IPC 4000 — to be used in your business; OR, through our trade-in program you can obtain a residential model at a big discount, which could be used effectively in your home for 24/7 effective air pollution control.

What is the safe distance / How close to the person can the air purifier be placed?

It's recommended to place the unit at least a few feet away from the person. It's quite OK to pass right by the unit or stand right in front of the unit for a few minutes. It's also OK to be close to the sides of the unit. However if there is a person sitting or standing for a long time in the direction the unit is facing, then having a distance of 6 feet is recommended. So a distance of at least 6 feet is recommended between the front of the unit where the air is coming out and the person standing/sitting in the direction of that airflow (or facing the front of the unit).

My old air purifier has a rusty circular object connected to the amber light bulb close to the ozone plate cage. What is that and should I have it replaced?

RADIO WAVE ANTENNA

That's the radio wave antenna that has rusted. This antenna is part of the ionizing mechanism within the unit. Rusty antenna may negatively affect this function of the unit, since ionization is what brings airborne particles down to the ground from the air. Radio wave ionization helps to bring larger particles out of the air, while needle point ionizer brings down small particles. If the radio wave antenna has rusted, you can bet other parts within the unit have rusted as well, either because of moisture and/or humidity getting inside the unit. Please refer to the repairs page to see if parts are still available for your model and if it could be repaired, plus other options available.

Glass ozone plates vs. Ceramic ozone plates

The Ozone plates are no longer manufactured in glass as of over 5 years ago. New plates are all ceramic, so they're more durable and pose less of a safety hazard if accidentally broken (as opposed to glass that can easily cut you while handling a broken plate). As far as performance, the new ceramic plates last longer. You just have to make sure you get the right frequency plate(s) for your machine. You can order the new Ozone plate(s) from the parts page of our web site, and you'll be able to check off the air purifier model you have to make sure you get the right frequency plates.

What's the correct way to insert Ozone plates into the air purifier?

It does not matter which way the ozone plates go inside the unit because they are perfectly square. Also it does not matter which plate goes into which plate slot (they could be interchanged). To help guide with ozone plate insertion, the new ceramic plates feature an arrow indicator at the bottom of the plate. This arrow should be facing UP when the plate is inserted properly.

Do you have schematics for older models like the 880; BreezeAT; Flair; XL-15, etc.?

For all models no longer manufactured and/or discontinued, the schematics, repair manuals and user guides are no longer available.

Can I use my whole house air purifier to purify my car?

Yes, you could certainly use your whole house air purifier to also cleanse the air in your car! Put the unit inside your car, set the (O3) ozone output on High and let the unit run like this for about 2-3 hours, or up to 24 hours for bigger problems, with all doors and windows in your car closed (there will be a small opening in the window or door through which the extension cord fits to power the unit, since the unit has to be plugged in to the wall somewhere outside the vehicle.) Then, turn off and take out the unit, open up all doors and windows and allow the interior to ventilate. Repeat if necessary.

I have an old XL15 air purifier. What's the recommended setting?

Under normal circumstances, on this model the recommended "Purifier" (O3 output) setting is at or between 500-1000 sq.ft. (refer to the Owner's Manual) and the "Fan" should be set at 12:00 o'clock position. These controls could be adjusted up or down however in case it becomes necessary, depending on the environment where the unit is placed, user sensitivity, and other factors. Again, please refer to the instructions in the Owner's Manual and review additional FAQs in this section for proper ozone levels.

As a dealer for your company, what materials can I use to introduce your products to my customers?

Once you become an active dealer, you can print out applicable material from our web site to make a presentation to your potential customers. Showing them the unit itself and more importantly how it works (they'll be able to tell a difference in the air right away especially in the room where unit is placed) in most cases is sufficient to make a sale or at least get someone interested to learn more. Then, you can show them some of the material from our web site and of course leave one or more units in your prospect's house to have them really experience the benefits first-hand. We're currently redesigning and working on providing all active dealers with updated written presentation materials in the near future, however keep in mind that it will be just a tool, and ultimately it is not the materials that sell the machine. It is the machine that practically sells itself and all that dealer has to do is get it into the hands of his prospects to have them try it out. Sign-up for our Dealership Program now quickly and easily right on our web site and at NO charge!

I am not ready to become an active dealer yet, however want to refer your products for profit. Is there such a program in place?

Yes! Register online for our Referral Program at NO charge, and you can then transition into our Dealership program in the future whenever you're ready.

What is the best way to get started as an Affiliate in our Affiliate Program?

The best way to get started in our Affiliate Program is to create a simple web site. This can be a static page or an active blog, which will talk about/educate the reader on the dangers of indoor air pollution and facts surrounding this problem, and then present our products as a solution and let the reader explore our products via your affiliate banner ad or text link. So the objective of your simple web site is to: a) educate/inform the consumer b) provide the consumer with the solution (link to our products). When visitor clicks on the banner ad link or text link, which we provide you to place on your site, they will be taken to our web site where they will be further informed on the indoor air problem and specifically about our products as solution and will place the order. When the order is placed, you — the affiliate — gets paid! So WE make the sale — YOU get paid! We pay you a whopping commission of up to 35% of each sale.

When your affiliate web site has been constructed, your only job as an affiliate is to advertise your web site, which you can do in numerous ways and since it is YOUR web site, you are not limited to how you want to advertise it (with the exception of having to advertise it legitimately per our Affiliate Agreement).

How do I claim the Living Lightning Air Electrostatic filter?

If you had purchased your Alpine Air Living purifier on our web site, you do qualify to receive a bonus gift, the custom-made Electrostatic filter at NO charge! You can read more about it here: http://www.alpineairtechnologies.com/products/free-bonus.shtml.

This custom-made washable filter replaces your household (or office) air conditioning (or heating) filter and is built to last a lifetime so you won't ever have to replace this filter again. It's proven to trap 94% of air pollutants and prevent them from entering your living space from the outdoors whenever using an air conditioner. When you heat your home, this filter will prevent accumulated pollutants within the ducts from entering your living space.

Because every filter is of different size, you need to measure your air conditioner's filter first, and then email us the measurement in inches (length & width). We will then send you the right size filter, as a gift. The common, most popular sizes that we carry are as follows: 12X24 / 14X20 / 14X25 / 15X20 / 15X25 / 16X20 / 16X25 / 20X20 and many more. Please contact us to let us know which size filter you could use. Since we custom-make these filters, we can make almost any size!

NOTE: Please make sure to give us the correct measurements, because once your filter is custom-made, there is NO way to resize it; so if exchange is needed because incorrect measurements were given originally, it will be done at the standard filter price of $69.95. Usually, the correct size is specified (preprinted) on the filter itself, so when you look at your existing filter you should be able to see it, otherwise please measure it correctly.

You're entitled to only one FREE filter per order. However, you can get 25% OFF ($17.49) regular filter price of $69.95 for any number of additional filters you could use in your home. So each additional Lifetime Electrostatic filter will be just $52.46, shipping included!

Where should I place the unit?

Please consult the Owner's Manual for unit placement. In general, place the unit in a position that will allow the natural airflow within the environment to assist in distributing what the unit is producing. You also need to place the unit as close to the ceiling as possible or at minimum, five feet off the floor, to maximize the unit's effectiveness.

Can I place the machine on top of refrigerator or anywhere else in the kitchen?

As a general rule, we do not recommend placing the unit anywhere in the kitchen, much less on top of another electrical appliance (refrigerator), which may cause interference with production of negative ions. Busy kitchen, especially where food is cooked often, tends to have grease molecules; steam (moisture), and other substances in the air as a result of cooking, which overtime may get inside the unit, clog it and negatively affect its performance. We usually recommend the living room as the best place for the machine. For more information and recommended placement, please refer to the User Guide of your air purifier and also look up more related questions and answers on this FAQ page.

Can I run my air purifier with the windows open?

Yes! Absolutely... Open windows means better air circulation in your house, and the better the airflow, the better this technology will work. Ozone will be picked up naturally by the airflow in your house and thus will be carried quickly throughout your entire living space, assuring delivery to your entire house.

Can I run my air purifier with the windows closed?

Yes, of course! However, closed windows also means restricted airflow. So during the winter season for example, while the windows are closed, keep the airflow going in your house. Run the ceiling fans if you have these, or run the heating system if there is one, etc. anything that can improve the airflow, which will in turn improve performance of your air purifier.

Since I live in an area with high outdoor air pollution, if I run my air purifier with the windows open, wouldn't this negatively impact air purifier's performance?

Not at all! Due to powerful negative ionization, whatever airborne particles enter your premises through open windows or doors, they will be brought down almost instantly by your machine working 24/7 in your house. So don't worry about extra contamination. Once the air purifier is set-up and running, open up the windows if you wish (refer to Q&A above).

The very first night I operated the unit made me wake up congested the following morning. Is this normal?

This usually happens in case of severe indoor air pollution. If your environment is severely polluted, it might take a few days to really cleanse it. During this process, the ionization gathers and drops a lot of pollutants from the air that were previously suspended. While asleep, you might be breathing some of that pollution that's now being eliminated from the air, which can make you wake up congested.

These effects will normally go away as soon as your environment has been cleansed from pollution. Waking up congested can also happen if you're undergoing the "detoxification" period. If you have lived in a severely polluted environment for a long time, then you body and lungs might be full of toxins. When you breathe clean air with ozone, it can detoxify your body by eliminating the pollution from your lungs, blood, etc. So if you get cold like symptoms the first few days after installing the Alpine Air Living purifier, it's quite normal if you're in severely polluted environment, and might be directly attributed to the detoxification effect.

Is Ozone safe?

Activated oxygen is nature's best cleanser. Nature constantly uses ozone to cleanse the environment. Have you ever smelled clean, fresh air right after the rain? You probably have. Well, this is because ozone is in the air oxidizing whatever pollutants the rain has dropped from the air. Our technology is built according to safety standards set forth by the gov't environmental agencies. Alpine Air Living technology has been tested for safety and made specifically with safety in mind. The maximum level of ozone produced by any Alpine Air Living purifier will never surpass the allowed maximum ozone output deemed safe. Also, all Alpine Air Living purifiers come with ozone control that allows you to set the ozone level suited best for your environment in a very safe way. Please click here to see answers to FAQ questions about Ozone.

How effective is Ozone on viruses, bacteria, mold and other harmful microorganisms?

Please visit this page to learn more about Ozone, its functions and its effectiveness.

If Ozone breaks down into oxygen soon after being released from the air purifier, does this mean it adds oxygen to the living space?

YES! Ozone (O3) is an unstable form of oxygen and within an hour of its release from the air purifier, it sanitizes the air (kills viruses, bacteria, mold spores, etc) and in the process reverts back into its stable form Oxygen (02). So you will naturally add more oxygen into the air as a side benefit from using your air purifier as directed. Many studies show that having and breathing more oxygen has positive long-term health benefits! To learn more about the process of ozone reverting back to oxygen, please see http://www.alpineairtechnologies.com/presentation/.

How soon will the generated ozone dissipate after being released from your air purifier?

Ozone usually reverts back into oxygen within an hour of being released from our air purifiers, or as soon as it comes into contact with any surface or substance. Even if you sanitize a room with lots of ozone for many hours, as soon as you turn the ozone off and ventilate that room, the ozone starts breaking down into oxygen immediately and within 20 minutes to an hour it will no longer be present in that room. Please refer to additional FAQs about ozone for more information about proper ozone settings and sanitizing.

What is the general formula in determining how many mg./hr. of ozone are needed for an extremely large environment?

As field experience has shown, the following procedure is generally reliable:

Compute the number of square feet within the environment by multiplying:

Length X Width = Square Feet

Compute the Cubic feet within the environment by multiplying:

Square Feet X Ceiling Height = Cubic Feet

Compute the MG/HR of ozone demand within the environment by multiplying:

Cubic Feet X 0.025 = MG/HR demand in an extremely polluted environment
OR
Cubic Feet X 0.01 = MG/HR demand in a lightly polluted environment.

Consult product specification sheets for MG/HR output of individual products and combine various products to meet the demand.

CAUTION: While this procedure determines ozone demand, it does not deal with particulate reduction, air movement, or unit placement.

How do "Milligrams Per Hour" (mg/hr) relate to "Parts Per Million"? (ppm)?

MG/HR is the true value to assess how much ozone (by weight) is actually being generated in an hours time. PPM is the value for the concentration (when in an accumulated form) to ozone, based upon how many parts of ozone are present within on million parts of air. To be able to accurately compute the expected parts per million of ozone within a given area, we would have to know the room size, temperature, humidity level, amount of make up air coming into the room, as well as the amount of surface materials and other pollutants that will reset with the ozone.

EnviroQuest International's products include square footage indicated on the purifier control, for the purpose of regulating the unit's ozone output to suit best your environment.

What does common indoor air pollution consist of and what health problems does it cause?

There are over 350 different air pollutants identified so far! See a detailed list of common pollutants and many health problems they cause. 60-70% of population suffers from some sort of breathing-related condition as doctors and media report! See the latest statistics here.

How much does it cost to operate my Alpine Air Living purifier?

It costs about 5 cents a day in electricity to operate the average Alpine Air Living purifier.

Do I have to vacuum very often while using my Alpine Air Living purifier?

It's recommended that during first few weeks of operation, you vacuum at least once a week or more, if you are located in a severely polluted environment. This is because in the first few weeks of operation your Alpine Air Living unit will really cleanse your environment. You might find unusual amounts of dust, for example, and/or other residue on your floor or carpet. This is what has been in the air that you breathe before installing the Alpine Air Living system in your home, and now with this technology the air pollutants have been brought down from the air to the floor. After your environment is cleansed, you'll find that there is no longer a need to vacuum often, since your house and/or office is now kept pollution free.

How does your air purifier affect household plants?

Since Ozone (O3) activated oxygen converts to stable O2 oxygen soon after its release from the air purifier, you will naturally have more oxygen in the environment. More oxygen in the air maybe conducive to better plant life and growth indoors, just as it is outdoors in oxygen rich environments. However, this is our opinion only, based on customers' comments with indoor plants. No studies have been done to show impact of our technology on various indoor household plants.

Do you offer business opportunities?

Yes! Please review various business programs we currently have available http://www.alpineairtechnologies.com/business/ and choose the one that best fits your needs. You can sign up for any of the programs on our web site (FREE!), and then you will receive applicable information/materials accordingly.

You have applied credit onto my account. How long does it take before it posts and I see it on my credit card statement?

Please note after credit is applied it may take 3-5 working days for the credit to post to your CC account at which time it will become visible on your CC statement. Most of the time, this credit will reflect as a separate transaction (apart from the original charge) where you'll see the original charge as one transaction and the credit as a separate transaction. Sometimes, however, it will become part of the original transaction, where the credit amount will be deducted upfront from the original purchase amount, and only one discounted purchase transaction (with credit already included) will post. So how you see this credit on your CC statement depends entirely on your CC company and how they choose to post it onto your statement, as this differs with each financial institution. Either way, if you do not see credit post within 8 working days from the day credit was applied, please contact us from the support section.

Can ozone itself cause allergies?

Ozone is NOT bad! You breathe ozone everyday and everywhere outdoors from the mountains to the beaches. If there is sun outside, there is Ozone produced. If Ozone was dangerous or harmful, then you would NOT be able to breathe at the beach, after thunder or lightning storms, in the mountains, etc. TOO MUCH ozone in a confined area however may be irritable to some people, and this is what you want to try to avoid. You want to make sure you run the Ozone at LOW setting on each of your unit(s), just as directed in the Owner's Manual. Simply adjust the "Purifier/Sanitizer O3" setting down to 0-500 sq.ft. or LOW and always run each unit at that setting. Should you notice there is still more ozone produced at that setting than you're comfortable with, first remove one of the (2) ozone plates from the air purifier if it runs on more than one, and see if this helps for the next 48 hours. If this does not help, then just turn the Ozone production OFF completely on the machine, by bringing the "Purifier/Sanitizer O3" knob all the way down to Zero (0). Your unit(s) will operate just fine without the ozone function, since every other function is independent of ozone production and will still work. As a side note, by adjusting the Ozone output down or turning it off completely, you may find that your problem has nothing to do with the ozone at all, and you just developed allergies because of other factors, which could be many beginning with outdoor air pollution, pets you may have indoors, dust or other allergens in the air, chemicals inside the house, etc. In any case, you should always run the units with a LOW level of Ozone, since higher amounts are not even necessary. Only trace amount (equal to that outdoors) is all that's needed to keep the odors out and have clean, fresh air in your home! Higher ozone settings are optional and should only be used temporarily, as directed, usually in unoccupied areas for sanitizing purposes and only if necessary.

Do I have to vacuum often with your air purifier working in my house?

It is true that in the beginning you can expect a large portion of air pollutants to settle out of the air and fall to the ground. It is also true that for the first week or even few weeks (depending on the amount of existing airborne pollution) you may have to vacuum a little more often to pick up the airborne particles that have fallen down to the ground. However, after this "cleansing period" has passed, this will not be an issue anymore, since from that point on the air will be much cleaner and will be maintained as such by your air purifier. You will no longer have to vacuum once a week, which is recommended in case of severe air pollution, and you can go back to your regular vacuuming routine/schedule. Remember, that the premise of your air purifier is to first remove the airborne contaminants from the air and then to maintain the air clean from that point on.

What is 'High Efficient Sterilizer'?

The o3 Sanitizer / o3 Purifier / o3 Sterilizer all refer to the OZONE production of the air purifier, on various Fresh Air models old and new. Also the User Guides may refer to the Ozone production function on the new Fresh Air models as Hi-Efficient Sterilization. In general, Hi-Efficient Sterilization refers to the improved Ozone production 5-stage power level in combination with the rest of the technologies within the air purifier all working in better synergy and as a whole resulting in quicker elimination and/or removal of airborne particles in comparison to the older Fresh Air air purifier models.

Is signature required upon delivery for most of your shipments?

Most of our shipments do require customer's signature upon delivery. Why? It is for your own safety to prevent packages being stolen when simply left out on the porch, etc. Believe it or not, this does happen often and thus we take preventative measures.

Can I upgrade the shipping method of my air purifier order to expedite the shipment?

Yes, you certainly can prior to your air purifier being shipped. However, keep in mind that you would be responsible for the shipping cost, which averages as follows within USA & Canada (in USD): UPS Overnight up to $130; UPS 2nd Day Air up to $115; UPS 3-Day Select up to $95. Basically whatever UPS charges us for expedited air transit, we would simply pass on to you. Because WE pay for UPS Ground shipping, there is NO shipping cost to you, so it is much more economical to simply ship the machine via our standard default shipping method (UPS Ground) and paying extra just to save a few days of transit in most cases is not worth the extra cost. However, at times urgent shipping is required and well justified, so in such a case we can certainly make arrangements for expedited shipping!

How can I track my order to get up-to-date transit information and exact delivery date?

You can get the current transit information on your order via the tracking# sent to you by email within 24 hours of shipment. If you did not receive this tracking#, please make sure to check the Spam/Bulk mail folder, since our message could have ended up there. You can then follow the link in that email to visit the carrier's web site where you can find current transit status and expected delivery date. You can also call the carrier during their normal business hours for up-to-date transit status and to make pick-up or delivery arrangements.

When will I get the tracking number for my order, and how soon can I expect delivery?

Under normal circumstances, the order ships from our warehouse within 48-72 hours of receipt, and tracking# is then sent to customer's email address on file. After the order ships, it could take an additional up to 7 business days for delivery within the continental USA and up to 15 business days within Canada. Delivery time to International destinations outside of USA and Canada varies. All air purifiers are shipped via UPS Ground. Parts and other accessories are shipped via US Postal Service Priority Mail.

How do I make delivery or pick-up arrangements with the carrier?

Please note after the shipment leaves our warehouse, we have no control over it and for any inquiries related to the shipment including making delivery or pick-up arrangements, please use tracking information provided and you must contact the carrier directly. To reach UPS, call:

1-800-PICK-UPS or 1-800-742-5877
or visit: www.ups.com

To reach US Postal Service, call:

1-800-ASK-USPS or 1-800-275-8777
or visit: www.usps.com

UPS will make a total of 3 consecutive delivery attempts, and US Postal Service will make a total of 1 delivery attempt on all shipments where Signature is required. If the order is not delivered by the last attempt, it will be held for pick-up for a limited number of days in carrier's local facility servicing your area, and carrier will leave a note for you. If this is the case with your order, please call the carrier right away for the pick-up location; days & hours, and to make pick-up arrangements! You will then be able to pick up your order at your convenience. If you know ahead of time nobody will be available to accept the order during standard delivery attempt(s), call the carrier ahead of time to make pick-up arrangements. It is easy and fast, and will assure hassle-free delivery!

All orders returned back to our fulfillment center due to carrier not being able to deliver are subject to restocking fee and carrier's regular + return shipping fee, in addition to secondary shipping charge to resend the order. So please make proper arrangements to receive or pick-up your order to avoid paying these extra fees!

My order was shipped via US Postal Service (USPS) Priority Mail and I have received the delivery/signature confirmation #, yet nothing shows up on www.usps.com Why is that?

Please note that tracking system for US Postal Service is quite slow, and it may take several working days for the transit information to be updated within their system. Since you had received the tracking#, it is confirmation that your order was shipped to you successfully. Since tracking information is updated once every few working days on www.usps.com, please check again within 48 hours or so. Please be assured that your order has been shipped out and you will receive it soon! Normally, it takes 3-5 working days for USPS Priority Mail shipment to arrive within continental USA, depending on your location. Same shipment to other destinations within USA, or to Canada and other countries will take longer.
